Man Gets His Laptop Back, Thanks To Twitter

An Oakland man had his laptop stolen in March of this year, and three months later, finally got his property back. Did it take three months to find the thief? Nope, it took less than 24 hours. Here’s what happened: The victim, Joshua Kaufman had his laptop stolen soon after he had installed theft-tracking software.

The software did its job just right and sent pictures of the thief, but when Kaufman went the police with the pictures, the Oakland police weren’t too concerned, even when Kaufman was able to tell the exact whereabouts of the man who stole his laptop.

He followed up with the investigator a month later, and still nothing. He contacted the Oakland Police Department twice via e-mail, and he hadn’t heard back. So what’s a guy to do?

No Support For Windows 8 Live ID?

According to GeekSmack’s sources, Microsoft’s current builds of Windows 8 do not offer any type of support for Windows Live ID. Windows Live is a service that allows you to login and enjoy the use of multiple services. For example, Xbox users can use their Windows Live account to log in to their profile on a personal computer, even if they normally use the same account to play on their Xbox 360.

Blogger Finally Getting A Better User Design

Google finally got the memo and has updated their blogging platform, Blogger, with a new user interface design. The interface looks much better than the previous one which is so 2000 and late.

From preview screenshots posted on Google’s Blog, Blogger’s Dashboard and Post Editor have been completely redesigned and look similar to a social media sharing site. The new design is a much needed improvement and also comes with the Google Web Toolkit bulletin.
