SmartWidget Keeps Your Apps Handy

In most smartphones, regardless of the operating system they use, there is always a physical or virtual button to bring forth the applications running simultaneously. This feature is called multi-tasking.

But this doesn’t provide the portability of having all your favorite applications in one place on the screen where you can start any of them easily without having to go look for it deep down the folders. In Android devices, however, shortcuts can do this work but what’s the point in having a home screen when it’s all stuffed up with shortcuts?

Razer’s Hydra Controllers Now Available!

Razer set out launch plans for the all-new Hydra, a dual-stick motion game controller. The controller looks similar to the Wii remote by design, but is black by default (as shown in the photos). Consumers can pre-order the remote controller for $140, with an estimated time arrival of June. A full version of Portal 2 comes with that price tag, making you ultimately pay about $90 for the remote set.

Google Adds +1 Button, Competes With Facebook’s Like

Today Google official launched it’s “+1” button, a way to share search results that you like with your friends and the rest of the internet. The small button will be placed next to each search result, and if you like the website just click +1 to have your opinion shared with everyone.

The “friends” aspect is interesting, since Google is not a social network (yet). The people your +1 gets shared with are Gmail chat contacts and friends on Reader and Buzz, which may or may not be an accurate representation of your online friends who’s opinions you care about.

Of course there was a way to harness this for financial gain. You can +1 ads, which sounds like something no one would do on purpose, so Google added a catch: if you +1 a site in the search results, and if that site has an ad then a +1 is added there as well.
