There were also reports of the Skype app crashing but apparently is not related to issues with Windows or Mac.

iPhone 5 Will Be Dual Mode

Verizon’s CFO confirmed that the next iPhone will be a world phone. The iPhone 5 will be able to operate both on the CDMA and GSM networks with the same hardware. Verizon CFO Fran Shammo claimed that the new iPhone would be a dual-mode phone allowing for users to seamlessly switch between wireless carriers without switching hardware.

Of course, you’ll probably have to pay a hefty $200 penalty for ending a contract early, it’s reassuring to some that you’ll get to keep the same hardware.

Rumor: Facebook Plans To Buy Skype

A close source to Facebook has told Reuters that Facebook plans to buy Skype at $4 billion, which is a lot more money than what it’s worth, about $1 billion. Consider this a game of monopoly when you already own 2 orange properties and you’re trading for the third orange property. The other player won’t sell you that third orange property to create your monopoly unless it is for a high price. How does four times the value sound? Sounds just like Monopoly to me.

AT&T Offers “Cell Tower In A Suitcase”

AT&T is now selling small, portable cellular antennas that allow corporations and government customers to provide their own wireless coverage in remote or disaster-struck areas. Instead of relying on cellphone companies to restore services after natural disasters, police and emergency personnel would instead be able to reset the mobile towers, prioritizing areas that need help the most.

The portable cell tower will be packed in a briefcase with a separate satellite dish needed.
