The new General Dynamic GD2000 is the most rugged notebook you’ll ever find. The reason I say that is because it’s the first waterproof notebook that I have ever heard of.

Okay, so I’ll admit it isn’t the sexiest computing machine I’ve seen, but come on, it’s waterproof! The GD2000 is a small 5.6″ notebook that carries an Intel Celeron M processor, operating at 1.2GHz and houses 2GB of DDR3 RAM.

IBM HPC Cloud Solutions For Maximizing Profits

IBM seeks to help companies use their high-performance computers more efficiently with new software that links separate pools of resources into a single private cloud. Usually, organizations with intense engineering operations have separate server farms used by individual groups of engineers, leaving computing resources unused.

With this in mind, IBM is currently making HPC Management Suite for Cloud software available after having just used it internally. Over 3,000 engineers around the world shared resources as they developed the POWER7 processor family, claiming to have cut costs in half and reduced the design cycle by six months as a result of the software.

First Chromebook Launched In U.K., Kogan Agora

Computer manufacturer, Kogan, has just launched the first Chrome OS-powered laptop in Australia and the United Kingdom. The chromebook is dubbed the Kogan Agora and is an ultra portable laptop that runs the Chrome OS on an Intel Celeron 1.3GHz processor, with 1GB of DDR2 RAM. The RAM (memory) is expandable to four gigabytes, and the unit comes with a 30GB solid state drive.

The Kogan Agora features an 11.6″ WXGA HD LED display, featuring a decent 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.
