AMD is set to launch its 9-series chipset this week, in efforts to bring next-gen technology to computer enthusiasts around the world. The new chipset was designed to complement AMD’s Scorpius desktop platform, a platform that will feature the 8-core “Zambezi” processor and support AMD Radeon HD6000 series graphics cards.

The 9-series chipset will be the first to support AMD’s AM3+ socket processors, as well as offer backwards compatibility with earlier generations.

Gorgeous Samsung Infuse 4G Coming Soon!

On May 15th, mark your calendars because Samsung will be releasing the fastest device on the AT&T network. The phone will support HSPA+ download speeds of up to 21Mbps. The Infuse 4G has a 4.5-inch screen and looks terrific. Even with the relatively large display, the handset remains thin at the width. The AMOLED Plus display offers vibrant colors that will ensure you never put your phone down, which may run down the battery just a bit. If looks weren’t enough, check out its blazing fast 1.2GHz processor and 8MP rear-facing camera.

OWC Launches 480GB SSD For MacBook Air

OWC (Other World Computer) has announced yesterday its new Mercury Aura Pro Express SSD now shipping in an industry largest 480GB capacity for all new 2010 Apple MacBook Air models. The solid state drive was first announced at the CES 2011 earlier this January. The MAPE SSD offers up to 4x greatest capacity and is up to 68% faster than factory drives. Samsung’s Sliding PC 7 Coming Soon!

Samsung announced its new Sliding PC 7 tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in January. Consumers can now pre-order the device for $649. The Samsung TX100 has a 10.1″ capacitive touchscreen that operates on a 1366 x 768 resolution display, carries a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor and comes with 2GB of DDR2 RAM, along with a 32GB SSD.

It seems that we are seeing a trend with tablets going for the solid-state drive option when it comes to storage. This is a smart move because solid-state technology was specifically designed for users on the go who wanted to compute without having their data susceptible to corruption (from normal wear and tear).

Verizon has finally brought it’s 4G LTE network to the Southern and Midwest markets, after it’s recent push to the major markets. Verizon will now be serving four markets in Pennsylvania (Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown and Leigh Valley), two markets in Tennessee (Cleveland and Clarksville), two markets in South Carolina (Hilton Head and Columbia) and one in North Carolina (Wilmington) would soon get LTE coverage.

Diamonds Last Forever, But What About Speakers?

Hercules has released a new mini-speaker kit that runs off USB 2.0 power. They claim it is designed for “female audiences”, but we can picture some wanna-be gangsters buying these to add some bling to their bling bling. Since these speakers run on only one chord for both audio and power, they make the ideal speaker set for people who use laptops. I don’t think these will necessarily deliver…
