Intel’s Future With Andy Bryant As Chairman

Computer processor giant, Intel, has just appointed its new vice chairman, Andy Bryant to man the company’s board, with Bryant expected to take over as chairman by next May.

Andy Bryant has been an executive for Intel for the past few decades but has recently looked over the company’s tech and manufacturing sector. Bryant is expected to learn the ropes from the current chairman, Jane Shaw, who is expected to retire next year.

Microsoft, Facebook & Co. Support AT&T Merge

According to tmonews, Microsoft joined with Facebook and six other tech companies in a filing to the FCC in support for the AT&T and T-Mobile merger. Of those who support the acquisition include Yahoo, Oracle, Research In Motion, and VC firms Kleiner Perkins, Caufield & Byers, and Sequoia Partners.

Their main reason for voting “yay” was that the acquisition would help AT&T expand their network to serve a larger portion of America. I believe that rather than having everyone’s best interest, these corporations are only looking out for themselves.

Dell Bounces Back In Profits

I was watching Dell’s stock closely last year and they weren’t doing too good. The company hung around $12 a share for the majority of Q4 last year. The company is really picking up now. Dell has just issued a statement that it has made a net income of $945M pr 49 cents a share which is quite a leap from $341M or 17 cents a share earlier in the year. The CEO and chairman of Dell, Michael Dell, claimed that the company was off to a solid start for the fiscal year of 2012 and that the substantial profit increase demonstrates that Dell’s strategy is working and the execution is improving.
