Google Nexus 3 Coming With Ice Cream Sandwich

With the launch of two Gingerbread pre-installed Nexus devices already on sale, Google is hard at work creating quite a buzz in the marketplace – but that’s not enough for us.

Since the official announcement of the upcoming version of Android at Google IO 2011, Ice Cream Sandwich, which is, essentially, a combination of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Android 3.0+ Honeycomb into a “cohesive whole”, the whole industry is abuzz with speculation, rumors, and increased excitement around the third Nexus device that is set to be formally announced sometime at the end of Q3/ early Q4.

Facebook To Fail Google Plus With Skype Video Chat

Facebook’s video chat feature has finally been launched, revealing what many technology blogs had already predicted: video chat is now available on the service and is powered by the hugely popular Skype.

The bond between Skype and Facebook has grown stronger since Microsoft acquired Skype a month ago — not to mention that Microsoft has a small stake in Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg Most Followed User On Google Plus

In an odd twist, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, is the most followed user on Google’s new social network Google Plus.

Zuckerberg has gained as of this post 21,213 followers, more than both Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Co-Founders of Google and Vic Gundotra the Senior Vice-President of Social for Google. While this may seem a little odd for a service coming from Google, this is likely mostly to do with several tech blogs reporting of Zuckerberg’s presence on the service.

‘Indestructible’ Botnet Enslaves 4.5mn PCs

A new and sophisticated botnet has infected more than four million computers in just three months, and it is almost “indestructible”, say security researchers. The botnet, called TDL-4, targets PCs running on Windows and tries hard to avoid detection and even harder to shut down.

TDL-4 is the name for both the Trojan virus that affects machines and the network of compromised computers. “It is the most sophisticated threat today… practically indestructible,” Kaspersky Lab’s security researchers Sergey Golovanov and Igor Soumenkov have stated in a detailed analysis released recently.

While rumors and speculation still surround Apple’s next generation iPhone handset – the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5, depending on whom you believe – other cell phone manufacturers continue to develop newer, faster handsets to compete in the marketplace.

Now, a leak took the wraps off what is being called the Nexus 4G – Google’s next flagship Android handset which is scheduled for launch sometime in November 2011. Let’s take a brief look at how these handsets will stack up against one another.

Co-Founder Stone Leaving Twitter

Biz Stone, who helped launch the microblogging service in 2006, is leaving day-to-day work at the company. Although he will remain involved with Twitter, most of his time will be spent on the relaunch of the start-up where Twitter was first developed: the Obvious Corp.

The departure marks the latest shift among the executive ranks at Twitter. Jack Dorsey, who came up with the idea for the microblog, returned in March as product chief, two years after being replaced as chief executive by the third co-founder, Ev Williams. Mr. Williams stepped down as CEO in October and was replaced by current CEO Dick Costolo.
