Gamestop To Sell Digital Game Copies

The digital download method is quiet convenient for those who don’t have access to a game store for buying original games. There are many online stores working at the moment which sell digital copies of the games for download. Some of these services are Steam, Amazon and Direct2Drive.

Now, Gamestop is also going to follow their footsteps. Gamestop has stores all around US from where one can buy a game in disc form. But now Gamestop is launching a new service which will provide the facility of downloading games.

LulzSec Brazil Takes Down Brazilian Government

It seems like LulzSec is a group of hackers that are spread all over the world, and not just in the previously suspected U.S., Spain, and U.K, but also Brazil. A branch of LulzSec called LulzSec Brazil has taken down the Brazilian government portal and the homepage of the President of Brazil.

It appears that both websites under a packet flood as neither can be reached at the time of this blog. The LulzSec Brazil group started on June 19th, and promised to attack the government of Brazil if they had reached 1,000 followers on Twitter. The group currently has 1,200 followers on Twitter

YouTube Delivers Creative Commons Library

Youtube has just delivered a Creative Commons license that allows creators to reuse and remake their favorite content, with ease. With the new copyright license from Creative Commons, licensors will be able to keep the copyright while letting others copy, distribute, and re-use the work for non-commercial purposes.

This will make it perfectly legal to remix clips and videos that are tagged with the Creative Commons license. The only requirement is that the original creator gets credited at some point in the video.

Sony Caves In To Geohot & Co.

After the long man hunt of PS3 Hacker George Hotz, followed by the requests of Anonymous to stop the man hunt, both parties have announced today that they will settle the lawsuit out of court. George Hotz, the hacker who published a key and a tool to jailbreak the PlayStation3 will be forbidden to publish the code but will not have to acknowledge any “wrongdoing of any kind.” Sony will drop all charges, and will no longer target him nor his website.

Apple Refuses To Ship iPads To BestBuy?

According to CultofMac, Best Buy has not been releasing their entire shipment of iPads once they have been reaching their sales quotas for the day. This made Apple very angry because the company’s goal is to get everyone an iPad before they either change their mind and get a Motorola Xoom or fall “victim” to a competitor by purchasing one of their tablets. Best Buy has internal quotas that are set for iPad 2 sales, but the quotas do not take in the actual number of iPad 2 sales in the stores.
