Tata Creates $720 House With 1 Week Build Time

The world’s cheapest car is currently manufactured by the Tata Group, and costs about $2,000. While we were amazed when we heard that a brand new car was $2,000, you’ll be even more surprised when you hear this.

Tata has just created a flatpack wooden house that’s built in one week and costs a total of $720. Think of it as a very large IKEA project. Now, before you call BS on this story, do note that the house is only ‘good’ for 20 years.

Program Your Camera To Shoot With A Clap

If you’re obsessed with your cameras, or even if you’re just an amateur photographer, there’s a new kickstarter project called Triggertrap. As of now, it’s a small box concept, but it will be able to modify the way you take photos.

One technical way of modifying the way your camera takes photos is by having your camera triggered by a laser beam. When the beam is broken, the camera snaps. A more user-friendly way of modifying your shooting habits?

Gigabyte’s New Motherboard Features 240GB Integrated SSD

Just a week ago, we blogged about the Gigabyte motherboard with the integrated 20GB SSD. Glenn Barber spoke about how he thought it was cool to have 20GB of space on the motherboard so that users could easily reformat without re-installing the operating system each time.

I have to admit that even I thought that was a cool new feature at the time, until the Computex 2011 show when I heard that Gigabyte will also be releasing motherboards with 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB of *integrated on-board SSD, providing a max read/write of 140MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively.

Gigabyte’s New Motherboard W/ Integrated 20GB SSD

Gigabyte has just unleashed a new motherboard that has an integrated 20GB solid-state drive on the board. The Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3-iSSD is a motherboard that is based on Intel’s Z68 Express chipset and comes bundled with Intel’s 20GB Solid State Drive 311 series. The purpose of the integrated 20GB SSD is not meant as a replacement drive but rather a supplement to existing drives.

What’s so great about having a built-in SSD is that users will be able to directly install their operating system of choice onto the motherboard itself and keep all files and data on their secondary drive.

Microsoft’s New Campaign: Do The Math

Microsoft has just launched a new ad campaign called Do The Math. The website compares Apple computers to Windows counterparts and shows the large price differences for the same exact specs. What confuses me is why this campaign was launched in 2011 and not 2002. Apple has been selling overpriced computers ever since they got fancy.
