Texas Researchers Hack Drones…

University of Texas at Austin did what many countries failed to do, they hijacked an American drone by spoofing its GPS signals. The news comes as the United States Federal Aviation Authority prepares to integrate drones into the country’s national airspace system. It was actually mandated by FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2012, Which was signed in to law by President Obama earlier this February.

Foursquare Adds Deals Section To App

The popular social networking site that is based on its users locations, is now offering ‘Deals’ to its platform. Foursquare’s new Deals special shows the latest deals from LivingSocial, Gilt City, Zozi, BuyWithMe, and AT&T Interactive.

The service works similar to a compiler, and some deals are made available exclusively to Foursquare users, sometimes deals as good as 50% off.

Your Money Is No Longer Safe At The Bank

According to newser, hackers managed to steal over $300,000 from a client’s Ocean Bank account, but according to a Maine judge’s ruling, the bank is not responsible. The judge understood that the bank didn’t follow the best security practices, but rules that the customer should have done more to protect the account. What?! Did a judge just blame the customer for choosing to trust a bank with his money?

The hackers got access to Patco Construction (the victims) Company’s banking credentials by sending a malicious e-mail to employees and then installing a password-stealing Trojan.

First Chromebook Launched In U.K., Kogan Agora

Computer manufacturer, Kogan, has just launched the first Chrome OS-powered laptop in Australia and the United Kingdom. The chromebook is dubbed the Kogan Agora and is an ultra portable laptop that runs the Chrome OS on an Intel Celeron 1.3GHz processor, with 1GB of DDR2 RAM. The RAM (memory) is expandable to four gigabytes, and the unit comes with a 30GB solid state drive.

The Kogan Agora features an 11.6″ WXGA HD LED display, featuring a decent 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.

Rumor: Facebook Plans To Buy Skype

A close source to Facebook has told Reuters that Facebook plans to buy Skype at $4 billion, which is a lot more money than what it’s worth, about $1 billion. Consider this a game of monopoly when you already own 2 orange properties and you’re trading for the third orange property. The other player won’t sell you that third orange property to create your monopoly unless it is for a high price. How does four times the value sound? Sounds just like Monopoly to me.

Walgreen Buys Drugstore.com For $409 Million In Cash

Walgreens was founded in 1901 by Charles Walgreen Sr. Walgreen purchased the Chicago drugstore where he had worked as a pharmacist. His ambition fueled the start of the drugstore chain and has expanded since. About 100 years later, Walgreens opened it’s 3,000th store. Walgreens was also the first drugstore chain to offer prescription labels in multiple languages, across the nation. Today, you can pick up your prescription in any one of 14 different languages.
