Heavy Tablet Production Begins For Fall Season

This Fall, you can expect to see some heavy tablet production from all the major brand names. When you combine the high demand of both tablet PCs and iPads for this summer, you can only expect the demand to skyrocket during the Fall season, as kids go back to school and people begin to do some early Christmas shopping.

Sources state that around 15 million tablets are expected to ship by the end of summer, with an expected 21 million to ship later this year during the Fall season.

Acer Working On Slideout Android Tablet, Yay!

I am a huge fan of tablets, and am also a huge fan of the Android operating system, so when I hear that there is a new Android tablet, I go a little crazy. According to Digitimes, Acer is working on a slideout Android tablet. No clue on whether the QWERTY keyboard will be similar to a laptop keyboard or not, but I am really hoping it will have laptop-style keys.

Aside from having a 10″ screen, we are told that it will be fueled by an ARM processor and will be manufactured by Compal Electronics. Although we are unsure of the exact storage, I would guess that the base model will come with 16GB of storage and start around $450.

Meet The ‘Impression 10’ Tablet

I am pleased to say that there is yet another tablet on the market, called the Impression 10. Interestingly enough, the Impression 10 is actually a 9.7″ tablet that runs an older 1GHz Samsung processor and Android 2.2 Froyo with a capacitive IPS touch screen.

Although the hardware and software isn’t the latest and greatest, the image quality and touch responsiveness is supposed to be up to par, and with a 1024 x 728 pixel resolution, who’s complaining?

Eee Pad Transformer 2 W/ Windows 8, Due 2012

Although we recently heard about the Eee Pad Transformer’s debut, it looks like the company is already set to launch the Eee Pad Transformer 2, next year, with Windows 8. Although Android’s Honeycomb has been a hot commodity for recent tablets, I have a feeling that consumers are going to want to taste what Windows 8 has to offer.

News of the Transformer sequel was leaked by an Asus employee at this years Computex and was quickly reported on the french site, Les Numeriques. The employee was sure to note that users will have the option of sticking with Android on the new Eee pad, if they choose to.

Asus Lamborghini VX6S Unveiled At Computex

Netbook Live has recently spotted the Asus Lamborghini-themed Eee PC VX6 at the Computex show in Taipei. The Asus netbook sports a brand new Atom NM10 CPU and offers full support for AMD Radeon HD 6470M graphics, rather than the Intel Atom D525 and Nvidia’s ION graphics (as on the previous generation VX6).

Now don’t start thinking there is a processor called the Atom NM10, that’s just a nickname for Intel’s chipset, manufactured for the Intel Atom D510 and D410 processors. The shiny “Lamborghini” carries a glossy 12.1″ display, and offers connectivity for Bluetooth, Wireless N, and features a 500GB hard drive.

Intel Keeley Lake Convertible On Its Way

Rather than waiting for Computex to launch, Intel decided to show off a new concept tablet/netbook hybrid. The concept convertible is called Keeley Lake and has a much thinner frame and shaped t and shape, allowing the fold in the design to not appear while closed.

We don’t have the full scoop on this convertible but we do know that it will use an Oak Trail Atom processor. The Atom Z670 will carry 1.5GHz of computing power and allow viewers to enjoy 1080p video.
