New Airport Security Checkpoint Of The Future

The International Air Transport Association came forth with a mock up of a future security checkpoint system. Rather than removing your belts and shoes, and have TSA officials give you the royal treatment, passengers will simply walk through the machine and will receive a full body scan as they walk through the hall-like sensor.

Passengers will be sorted according to risk, and those who fly frequently will be automatically deemed less risky. No clue on whether racial profiling will play into who gets chosen for the high-risk passengers (those who pose a threat), but supposedly the system takes in a wide variety of factors when deciding.

Two Tech Giants Want Piece Of iPad Pie

Samsung isn’t the only guest at the tablet party. HTC and Huawei are also looking to unseat Apple as the dominant tablet player. HTC unveiled the Flyer, a 7-inch Android 2.4 device sporting a 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 1 GB of RAM, and both a front and rear-facing camera.

Notable features are the Sense UI layer, which has received very favorable reviews, and built-in pen (stylus) support that can be used with its Scribe apps. One of these apps, dubbed “Timemark” allows the synchronization of audio clips with your written notes, pretty handy in an academic setting where students can take advantage of this, and not risk missing out on any part of an important lecture.
