Facebook Rolls Out Facial Recognition, Worldwide

Facebook is proud to announce that the social media giant now has integrated facial recognition in its online platform. This new system allows content to be match with faces for an easier way to tag photos. Although tagging is still done by your friends, the new facial recognition software detects the face and pushes it like an advertisement on the right hand side of your friends’ screen.

This new system allows for quick and efficient tagging for those moments where you wish you could tag but don’t feel like being stranded down to the computer all day.

$35 Waterproof Digital Camera, Amazing Deal

Have you ever wanted to go white water rafting without destroying your state-of-the-art digital camera, or wrecking your brand new Android smartphone? If the answer is yes, Photojojo may have a solution for you. The company has launched a digital camera, priced at just $35, that will take pictures at a 1.3MP resolution (I had a 1.3MP digital camera in 2002).

The LCD display isn’t anything too special, as it measures only 1.4″ diagonal. The camera can take photos of up to 100 feet underwater. While it won’t take the sharpest photos (by far), it certainly is better than nothing, especially when you’re set to go snorkeling but don’t have any water-proof cameras with you.

Lomography Rolls Out LC-Wide Plastic Camera

Lomography has just unleashed a new plastic camera that uses 35mm film and plastic cameras. A lomography camera uses cheaply made materials to create colorful and dreamy photographs. Each camera is unique and its effects vignetting and light leaks are valued as part of the imperfect vintage look. This camera is called the LC-Wide and comes at a $389, a price most do not consider cheap.

The camera features a 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle Lens. The LC-Wide camera gives users the freedom of choosing three different photo formats (full, half, or square) as well as choosing vibrant colors, strong vignetting, and multiple exposures.

Toshiba Beats Apple’s Retina Display, By Miles

Okay, so Apple Shmapple, you’ve heard all the talks about iPhone’s technology and why you should get it. One of the iPhone’s coolest features, at least in my opinion, is its retina display. Although I am a bit of a pixel fanatic, it’s time to look our eyes away from Apple and towards technology of the future. Samsung introduced a highly dense pixel resolution just last week, and Toshiba is keeping up the paces.

Toshiba has just come forth with a new four inch display that will be used in smartphones. The 4-inch screen will feature a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, allowing it to display HD video in 720p.

Panasonic Lumix G3 Comes Out Today

Panasonic will officially reveal its G3 Micro Four Thirds camera today. The camera is expected to be 25% smaller and get a 15.8MP sensor. The camera will feature an ultra-fast autofocus and have a maximum sensitivity of ISO 6400; we are not yet sure if this will get the improved light performance of the GH2. The camera is expected to record beautiful 1080p video and manage continuous 4FPS for action photos.

Sony A390, Great Budget DSLR Camera

Sony’s A390, starting at 350 pounds, is one of the cheapest DSLRs on the market. It features a bit of a restyling from the previous A380. For the price, the A390 is one of the best deals money can buy. The camera comes equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD screen that can be tilted for better viewing and comes with Live View that lets you check out the action when filming or setting up tripod shots.

The camera has a 14.7 MP sensor that allows it to be a powerhouse at taking sharp photos.
