Our tech giants Google and Microsoft has taken the patent war to next level and Twitter is the new war zone. I don’t doubt Chrome’s speed and portability; however, calling IE users “low IQ” is a little rude. Isn’t it? Apart from these stories what we are talking about is search giant Google’s newer version of their self proclaimed world’s fastest browser, Google Chrome. |

Looks like to many social networking websites, iPad is a thing they sure have to adapt to. With a brand name like Apple, it’s no wonder they get all the street cred. Although there had been applications for using both Twitter and Facebook on the iPad, neither of these social networking behemoths were satisfied with their performance. The OS war between different mobile operating system vendors is not new. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, RIM are some of the major contenders. However, a study that was conducted recently states that Google dominates this pool of contenders with its Android OS. A research firm named Canalys recently carried out this survey which indicated that almost half of the world’s smartphones run Android while there is a major gap between iOS and Android. About 48 percent of the OS market belongs to Android while mere 19 percent is owned by iOS. |

Consequently every company is trying to decorate its portfolio with as many patents as it can by buying patents from different companies. Google, which had recently been sued by Oracle for Java patent infringement in development of Android has also decided to take some precautionary measures. |

In June 2011, many Gmail accounts were compromised by hackers. Passwords of many US officials, political activists and officials in different countries were stolen. Ever since then, Google had been working on it’s Two Step Authentication method. This method has enhanced the security of Google account holders. This method requires password based authentication along with a verification code which is sent to the user either through voice, call/text or is generated on the user’s smartphone device via a Google app from which one is accessing his/her account. |
