Texas Researchers Hack Drones…

University of Texas at Austin did what many countries failed to do, they hijacked an American drone by spoofing its GPS signals. The news comes as the United States Federal Aviation Authority prepares to integrate drones into the country’s national airspace system. It was actually mandated by FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2012, Which was signed in to law by President Obama earlier this February.

Man Gets His Laptop Back, Thanks To Twitter

An Oakland man had his laptop stolen in March of this year, and three months later, finally got his property back. Did it take three months to find the thief? Nope, it took less than 24 hours. Here’s what happened: The victim, Joshua Kaufman had his laptop stolen soon after he had installed theft-tracking software.

The software did its job just right and sent pictures of the thief, but when Kaufman went the police with the pictures, the Oakland police weren’t too concerned, even when Kaufman was able to tell the exact whereabouts of the man who stole his laptop.

He followed up with the investigator a month later, and still nothing. He contacted the Oakland Police Department twice via e-mail, and he hadn’t heard back. So what’s a guy to do?

Hi-jacked Wi-Fi; Innocent Man Accused Of Child Pornography

A man from Buffalo, New York had his house stormed early in the morning with assault weapons fully drawn. While the innocent man was lying on the floor, police called him a pedophile and pornographer. What came as complete shock and disbelief at first, soon became a realization that someone must have used his unprotected wireless router.

The police insisted the man was the “creep” and that the innocent man had downloaded thousands of images late the previous night, under the screen name “Doldrum.”
