But now they have planned to introduce this project on smart phones as well. Which means that users will get quad core devices with Nvidia chips and Google (android) operating system.

Lantronix xPrintServer – Printing From Your iOS Devices

Lantronix recently released a new version of its xPrintServer which turns any printer into a wireless printer for your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. The company released its first xPrintServer late last year, allowing you to turn any network-connected printer into an iOS printer by simply plugging an Ethernet cable into the little box. Now the company added the xPrintServer Home Edition to its lineup, adding a USB port for the types of printers you’re more like to find at home.

Google Not Paying Its Employees??

iOS and Android are the two largest mobile operating systems today, and while Apple has paid over $2.5 billion dollars to its developers, we wonder what exactly is happening over at Google’s end.

According to a report by The Register, Android developers receipts aren’t matching the actual number that they are selling and are only getting paid for half of their applications.

iTunes Introduces Replay Movie Feature

Recently, Apple introduced a new service which would allow users to stream TV shows which they had already purchased on their Apple TV. It was rumored that Apple would launch a music streaming service with iCloud and iTunes, but the latest reports suggest that Apple is now working on a new movie streaming service called iTunes Replay.

According to the experts at App Advice Apple, the company is soon to launch a new movie streaming service on iTunes which will allow users to re-stream the movies which they had already purchased and will also provide the facility to re-download them.

Android Dominates Mobile OS Market

The OS war between different mobile operating system vendors is not new. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, RIM are some of the major contenders.

However, a study that was conducted recently states that Google dominates this pool of contenders with its Android OS. A research firm named Canalys recently carried out this survey which indicated that almost half of the world’s smartphones run Android while there is a major gap between iOS and Android. About 48 percent of the OS market belongs to Android while mere 19 percent is owned by iOS.

Olympus E-PL3 Coming This September

With Sony having released its entry level DSLRs: the alpha-nex 3D ad alpha-nex 5D, Electronics rival Olympus has also planned to release a camera having features both of a compact camera and a DSLR. Therefore, Olympus announced its interchangeable lens camera, the Olympus E-PL3 in June. But no information was provided regarding the price and release date of the unit.

Now, Olympus has at least announced the month of its arrival in the US which is September 2011. The camera will feature a 12.3 megapixel sensor with an interchangeable lens capability, a Live MOS sensor, TruePic VI image processors and an ISO ceiling of 12,800.

Mozilla Plans New Operating System

There is currently a race going on between smartphones’ operating system companies Google and Apple, both leading with their Android and iOS operating systems. But guess what? Mozilla is also joining the race.

Mozilla has announced that it will be working on development of a new opeating system. This will be an open source operating system. It is code named as “Boot To Gecko” as it is powered by Gecko, a layout rendering engine. It will be a completely open source operating system unlike Android.

Be Efficient With iOS 5’s Wireless Update Feature

Apple has recently seeded the beta version of its newest operating system iOS 5 to developers. iOS 5 is currently not available to normal users as it is in a testing phase.

For the first time Apple has introduced the feature of updating the OS over a wireless network without hooking the device up to a PC for downloading.

For this, the user will need to first download the new operating system to the device utilizing 3G or WIFI connectivity. Updating the software by this method would not download the full operating system which requires the download of about 700 MB chunk of data.

iOS 5 Beta 4 Gets Jailbroken

The much awaited release of iOS 5 is now over, at least for iOS developers. A few hours back Apple released the beta 4 version of the much awaited iOS 5 to developers.

But guess what? Just a few hours after the release of this operating system, the hacker community has found a way to jailbreak this OS. Marvelous and very fast indeed.

Apple To Provide Better Voice Features In iOS 5?

People always demand endless control over electronic gadgets. Probably keeping in view with this theory, voice recognition systems were introduced in smart phones providing the users more freedom of control over the device.

iOS 5 is the upcoming operating system for Apple’s i-devices. iOS seriously lags behind Android because of the latter’s better developed system wide voice recognition system.
