iOS 4.3.4 Gets Jailbroken, Despite Recent Update

Just last week, we wrote about Apple’s upcoming iOS 4.3.4 and how it would prevent people from jailbreaking their devices.

Well, it looks like the iPhone can still be hacked, at least to an extent. In order to continue using your jailbroken phone or iPad, simply keep the unit hooked up to your PC via the sync cable and you’ll be able to continue using your machine.

Of course, the whole purpose between jailbreaking a portable device is so you can stay mobile (not tethered to your desktop PC all day). The security update also patched an integer overflow-related bug, an incomplete code signing issue.

Apple’s iOS 4.3.4 Fixes PDF Bug, Blocks Jailbreaking

Apple has just released a software update for iOS phones and tablets that fixes a serious vulnerability in the operating system in regards to the way PDF files handled fonts. The vulnerability included the potential of a malicious PDF file to sneak malware into the device.

Of course, before you hurry to update your iOS gadget, do note that the refresh also prevents hacking and jailbreaking. So, it’s kind of a double edged sword, and if jailbreaking means anything to you, you’ll stay away from this update and quit using PDFs all together.

I remember when tablets first came out years back, I would talk about them to people who’ve never heard of the term, and I would explain it as a digital notepad. It’s really something to see how tablets have evolved since birth.

We’ve even seen an interesting type of tablet hybrid, dubbed a convertible. Tablet hybrids are great because they offer users a physical keyboard to get any heavy typing or work done in an efficient manner.

How To Enjoy A Brand New Macbook For $500

The answer is quite simple, buy an iPad 2 and get a keyboard accessory for it. With Apple’s new Keyboard Case for the iPad, you are not only getting a protective shell to house your new computer investment, but you can also use it as a keyboard and tablet stand.

Okay, so it’s obviously not going to be an i7 powered laptop, we get that. But if you are truly in love with iOS, this might be an affordable alternative to getting a macbook, at least until your funds grow a bit.
