Facebook has decided to aggressively expand its “Deals” services to compete directly with Groupon and LivingSocial. The new social service will provide local discounts to Facebook users.
The new service rolls out in five test markets including Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, San Diego, and San Francisco. The service lets users locate deals on on a page with local promotions. It also shows deals and promotions on the left side of the home page with the feeds. According to Facebook, it will let people buy deals on Facebook and share them with their friends.
