Members Of Anonymous Hacking Group, Arrested

Well, what do you know? Three suspected members of the Anonymous Hacking group were arrested today in Spain. The arrests were made in Barcelona, Valencia, and Almeria. For those who may have forgotten, the Anonymous hacking group is responsible for the attacks on Sony, Spanish banks, and possibly other attacks.

The arrests were actually as part of an investigation that had begun in October 2010. It looks like some of the attacks made by members of the group used a web-based tool called Loic to bombard the target sites with data. Furthermore, Paypal, Mastercard, and Amazon were each targeted using this tool.

Samsung And Visa Bring NFC To London 2012 Olympics

Samsung and Visa are currently in talks about a partnership delivering NFC mobile payment technology for the London 2012 Olympics. Both companies are considering rolling an Olympics and Paralympics Games handset in London that will be specially equipped with the new NFC technology. The new phone will work with a Visa payment application and a special SIM card. The consumer will be able to make a purchase with the phone by opening the Visa application and holding it in front of a special contactless reader.

Google Will Roll Out NFC For Android Phones

According to the WallStreet Journal, Google is teaming up with MasterCard and Citigroup to bring Near-Field Communications technology to Android mobile devices. This would allow consumers to pay for things by swiping their phone against a small reader at a checkout stand. The goal in using NFC technology is to speed up transaction times and make it easier for consumers to pay for things without whipping out their wallet or their purse to look for their credit cards.
