Since buying stuff online is a risky process, online stores usually have your account setup with a password with which you can access the online material and save you the peril of losing important information or data. Apple also followed the same procedure where you only had to put in your password once, saving the trouble of punching the password again for next 15 minutes.

This was only until some lawsuits were filed against Apple. Apple, fearing an FCC investigation changed the method leaving users to enter password for every download. This sometimes becomes very troublesome for frequent downloaders who get lots of stuff.

Audiosocket Launches MaaS For Music Licenses

An independent music licensing and tech company, dubbed Audiosocket, is launching a new program today called Music as a Service (MaaS). The new platform will give developers a new way to give users the ability to license music for applications.

The phrase Music as a Service is quite new, but derives from the long existing ‘Software as a Service’, which is abbreviated as SaaS.

Visa And Square Partner Up To Buff Up Security

Since Visa’s investment with the mobile payment company, Square, we see that the two have announced a new version of the Square dongle that adds encryption and enhances security. Square has received much criticism in the past from Verifone, claiming that Square’s system is insecure and outdated.

Although Square has denied these allegations (who wouldn’t deny such allegations?), the company has introduced a new version of the Square reader that employs encryption, hinting that perhaps they did agree that security needed to be enhanced. Of course all this comes after Sony’s PlayStation Network gets hacked, is down for seven days, and has personal information of 70 million members stolen.

Social Network That Operates A Digital Currency

Hub Culture is a social network which manages a digital currency and the first to merge the digital and physical worlds. Members create online profiles and tag themselves to areas of expertise and knowledge. They also build groups to manage projects with wikis, file sharing, discussions and event planning, or exchange the virtual currency to acknowledge favors and benefits that come from sharing information. The site has dedicated representatives in over 60 locations worldwide, including Bermuda, Geneva, Hong Kong, London, San Francisco and Singapore, according to Wikipedia.
