Geocopter Presents First Unmanned Helicopter

The GC-201 from Geocopter allows the US military to use unmanned helicopters for stealth missions. Designed and built like a normal helicopter, the GC-201 features a twin gas turbine engine propulsion system, lightweight carbon fiber fuselage and full automatic takeoff, mission, and landing capabilities.

It can cruise at 46MPH and can fly as high as 6,500 feet. The GC-201 carries a 66 pound sensor payload that brings its original weight to nearly 200 pounds. With the sensor payload attached, the helicopter can remain in flight only for about three hours, perfect for short missions.

New 2012 Mercedes ML Coming At You

Mercedes has just unveiled the next generation M-Class Mercedes-Benz, a five seat SUV that was designed to go head to head BMW’s X5. The four-wheel model has been completely redesigned from head to toe, including a new, more powerful engine.

The entry-level ML250 will get a 201bhp 2.1 liter four-cylinder diesel lump, that is capable of getting an astonishing 47MPG while emitting just 158g/km of CO2. The new Mercedes has 25% better efficiency across the M-Class range offering consumers the thrill of owning a Mercedes without the worry of stopping by the gas station twice a week.

261MPG Volkswagen, Costs $10 For Full Tank

Volkswagen has just announced its most fuel-efficient car, the XL1, a truly inspirational prototype. The car is powered by an 800CC turbodiesel engine and a small electric motor. The two seater holds 2.5 gallons of gas, so at $4 a gallon, will only cost $10 full a full tank. Since each gallon of gas brings 261 miles of driving, $10 buys you 650 miles on the road. Just to be clear, that’s like driving from San Francisco, California to Mexico on a single tank, for a single $10 bill. Truly impressive.

Finally, A Hybrid Car That Goes 200MPH

Jaguar is planning to launch its C-X75 concept vehicle as a hybrid supercar. The C-X75 takes the cake for speed, known to achieve speeds greater than 200MPH and is expected to deliver ultra-low CO2 emissions of less than 99g/km. Finally a concept vehicle with plans through production, something that rarely happens with anything in concept form. I’ve always considered concept technology and vehicles (which I also consider tech) to be creative designs meant to innovate and inspire future creators.

New Hydrocycle Lets You Bike In Waters

A new Hydrocycle is out on the market, it’s basically a watercraft that lets you “ride it” much like riding a bicycle, except you’ll be in water. The rider will move the pedals in a clockwise fashion to spin a 12″ propeller, allowing the Hydrocycle to drive smoothly on rivers, lakes, or even oceans at speeds up to six miles per hour. The Hydrocycle uses polyethylene pontoons that were developed by a professional canoe designer for optimum buoyancy (don’t worry, you won’t have to hold your breath to stay afloat)!

Thinking Fuel Efficiency? How does 2,500 MPG sound?

The Eco-marathon is a race where the winning vehicle has the best rated “miles per gallon.” The goal is to complete ten laps around a Houston park at an average speed of 15MPH while consuming the least amount of energy possible. Last year’s winners included students from Laval University in Quebec, and achieved 2,487.5 miles per gallon.

For the third year in a row, students at the same university have won the competition again, building a three-wheeler that gets an astounding 2,564.8 MPG.
