iOS 4.3.4 Gets Jailbroken, Despite Recent Update

Just last week, we wrote about Apple’s upcoming iOS 4.3.4 and how it would prevent people from jailbreaking their devices.

Well, it looks like the iPhone can still be hacked, at least to an extent. In order to continue using your jailbroken phone or iPad, simply keep the unit hooked up to your PC via the sync cable and you’ll be able to continue using your machine.

Of course, the whole purpose between jailbreaking a portable device is so you can stay mobile (not tethered to your desktop PC all day). The security update also patched an integer overflow-related bug, an incomplete code signing issue.

HTC Acquires Graphics Company For $300M

HTC is getting increasingly aggressive. Not only this the company pushing out high quality, luxury smartphones, but it has recently acquired S3 Graphics from the processor manufacturer, VIA, for $300 million. While S3 graphics doesn’t really compare to Nvidia or ATI, they do a lot of work for mobile technologies.

S3 graphics typically work on lower powered solutions that support 3D graphics and HD video playback, which is exactly what HTC is looking for as they continue to push out mobile powerhouse devices.

Asus Rolls Out Affordable Eee All-In-One PC

Asus has just rolled out its all new All-In-One (AIO) PCs. Named the Eee Top ET1611PUT, the 15.6″ AIO is based on Intel Atom architecture. Users can also opt for a larger 20″ model, called the Eee Top ET2011AUKB.

Interestingly enough, the computers are available with or without an operating system-making it convenient to load Linux, OS X, or any other operating system of your choice. The 15.6″ model puts out an unimpressive 1366 x 768 pixel resolution on a single-touch anti-glare screen.

Major Take-Aways From WWDC 2011

Apple’s CEO announced today a new service called iCloud at Apple’s WorldWide Developer Conference 2011. The service allows Apple product owners to store both documents and music in the cloud (on the Internet) rather than on a physical computer, hard drive, or mobile phone.

With the iCloud, users will be able to have greater access to content without having to max out their portable media devices. The iCloud also will offer the convenience of synchronizing automatically with all of the user’s Apple devices (iPhone, iPads, and Mac computers), allowing users to access docs, apps, calendars, and e-mails from any location without having to worry to remember to hit the Sync Button on their computer. Sony Ericsson Mobile Leak: Urushi / ST18i

We’ve just heard some news about the all-new Sony Ericsson Urushi, or ST18i as some call it. While the device is shiny and beautiful, the inside specs aren’t as impressive as its outer shell. The device is equipped with a 1GHz ARM processor, a speed that feels a little sluggish compared to the more recent 1.5GHz models.

In addition to the slower cpu, Sony slapped on 335MB of RAM while HTC & co. are equipping their new devices with 768MB of RAM.

Samsung has just announced the launch of the all-new Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0.
