Pandigital Unleashes 7″ Tablet/eReader

Pandigital has just released an eReader with Android, yay!!! The device is a seven inch tablet with a TFT LCD display, and has standard WiFi access as well as access to Barnes and Noble for eBooks. The tablet features both a front and rear-facing camera, HDMI output and a microphone-hey cool, an e-book AND video chat device! The tablet comes shipped with your basics, Facebook, Dictionary, Antivirus utility, and an OfficeSuite viewer.

American Airlines Offers First App For Nook Color

The Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color eReader received an update this week that allowed the ability to run apps, check email, and act a lot like an Android tablet, and less of a boring eReader. There will also be third part apps offered on the Nook Color, with American Airlines being one of the first. The airline has its app available on the Nook Color. The app is already offered on other Android and Apple devices, however remains a novelty on the Nook.

Nook E-reader Starts Microsoft vs. Barnes & Noble Lawsuit

As more brick and mortar bookstores close everyday, booksellers must find new ways to stay in business. This often means developing and selling e-readers, which turn out to have their own drawback: lawsuits. Today Microsoft sued Barnes & Noble over patent infringement regarding the Android-based e-reader, Nook. The patent in question deals topics such as the tabs to move between screens, surfing the web faster, using documents, and the way users interact with e-books.

This is one of many lawsuits Microsoft is involved in against Google’s mobile operating system, however they have yet to directly go after the search engine giant yet.
