Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Coming Next Week

Fujitsu is preparing to ship its new Stylistic Q550 tablet computer next week. The tablet PC will carry a razor sharp 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor, a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 resolution IPS display, dual digitizer for stylus input and four-finger multi-touch control. Users will be able to pop in a 2.5″ SSD into the machine to experience the full force of the 2GB laptop.

Of course, you get your standard WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth support, and optional 3G and GPS connectivity as well. Ports include an HDMI output, SDHC memory card slot, USB port, and a fingerprint scanner.

Samsung’s Sliding PC 7 Coming Soon!

Samsung announced its new Sliding PC 7 tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in January. Consumers can now pre-order the device for $649. The Samsung TX100 has a 10.1″ capacitive touchscreen that operates on a 1366 x 768 resolution display, carries a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor and comes with 2GB of DDR2 RAM, along with a 32GB SSD.

It seems that we are seeing a trend with tablets going for the solid-state drive option when it comes to storage. This is a smart move because solid-state technology was specifically designed for users on the go who wanted to compute without having their data susceptible to corruption (from normal wear and tear).
