British Hackers Strike Back, Hit Al-Qaeda

A group of British hackers too down Al-Qaeda’s communication network and websites which prevented the terrorist organization from posting online messages and videos. The attacks actually started a few days ago and have temporarily postponed the group’s activities.

The attacks followed similar attacks earlier in the month when British intelligence officers replaced Al-Qaeda’s bomb-making recipes with cupcake recipes. Analysts believe that Al-Qaeda will get its websites back online within the next few days due to the sophisticated techniques to take the websites down.

A new ‘paperless office’ service called OfficeDrop, now lets you lose the file cabinets and organize everything through cloud storage. OfficeDrop is a multi-user service that includes custom scanning software for Windows, Macs, and Android phones.

Here’s how it works, you begin by scanning a document into OfficeDrop. The application then saves it as a searchable PDF. You can then easily search OfficeDrop with a few key terms to narrow down your search, and the application will pull it up instantaneously.

Police Arrest Teen From Lulz Security

UK Police arrested a 19 year old yesterday involved in the anonymous hacking group, LulzSecurity. The boy was caught after performing a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack. The Metropolitan Police Central e-Crime Unit said the boy was detained for attacks against a number of International business and intelligence agencies.

The arrest was carried out through a pre-planned, intelligence led operation, according to authorities. The hacking group took credit for attacks against SOCA (Serious Organized Crime Agency), when they tweeted “Tango down — soca.gov.uk –in the name of #AntiSec.”

Groupon Files For $750 Million IPO

Groupon Found Guilty Of Writing Fake Yelp Reviews

In a Venture Level blog post today, Romil Patel, an entrepreneur discusses his experiences with running Groupon and LivingSocial deals. Overall, he experienced some shadiness going on with Groupon. Apparently a Groupon representative he worked with had asked him to create fake, positive Yelp reviews for his own business.
