Mass Effect 3: Full Trailer And Gameplay Revealed

It looks like Mass Effect 3 will arrive in the month of March 2012, despite the original Holiday 2011 release schedule. The update comes from Casey Hudson, the project lead for Mass Effect 3. BioWare’s CEO Ray Muzyka said that Mass Effect 3 will take full advantage of Microsoft’s Kinect controller, and even said that players will be able to give voice commands directly to squad members (using their own voice.)

New NASA Mission For 2016: OSIRIS-Rex

NASA has announced yesterday a new space exploration mission. The mission entails launching a spacecraft to an asteroid in 2016 and to use a robotic arm to gather samples in aims to better understand the formation of our solar system and how life began. The mission is called the Origins-Spectral Interpretation-Resource Identification-Security-Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-Rex) for short.

OSIRIS Rex will be the first United States mission to carry samples from an asteroid back to Earth. The mission will cost us $1 Billion dollars and will take place at the Kennedy Space Center. The asteroid, RQ36 is about 1,900 feet in diameter and about the size of five football fields.

The latest Tweetup will include NASA choosing 120 Twitter followers at random to visit the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on Monday, June 6th. NASA notes that since only four space missions left for this year and an asteroid belt encounter almost underway, 2011 will be one of the busiest years in planetary exploration.

Houston, Robonaut 2 Is Ready To Serve.

Discovery launched at 4:50PM EST. It was (and still is) the last mission for Discovery and the third-to-last mission for the entire space shuttle program. Unique about this mission, is that it is the first to carry a humanoid robot into space, the Robonaut 2. The Robonaut 2’s (R2) technologies “have real-world applications for sensor development, such as possible enhancements to lane departure warning, side blind zone alert, adaptive cruise control and rear park assist.”

According to NASA, “A Robonaut is a dextrous humanoid robot built and designed at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.” NASA plans to use Robonauts to…
