Seagate has just launched the GoFlex Satellite mobile wireless storage that has been optimized specifically for the iPad. Consumers who invest in this technology will own 500GB of storage that can be taken anywhere without having to carry tangled USB wires and power cables. The device works over an 802.11 b/g/n wireless network and has a rechargeable battery.

With the latest GoFlex drive, users will be able to seamlessly transfer videos, music, pictures, and documents through the air. Users can even connect directly to the GoFlex Satellite drive simply by using the free GoFlex Media app.

Sony A390, Great Budget DSLR Camera

Sony’s A390, starting at 350 pounds, is one of the cheapest DSLRs on the market. It features a bit of a restyling from the previous A380. For the price, the A390 is one of the best deals money can buy. The camera comes equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD screen that can be tilted for better viewing and comes with Live View that lets you check out the action when filming or setting up tripod shots.

Huge Security Hole Found In Many Nikon Cameras

Researchers have recently discovered a flaw in the system used by Nikon professional digital cameras, the same system that ensures that images have not been tampered with. What usually happens in high-end SLR digital cameras is a unique and encrypted signing key is assigned to an image when it is shot. This image is then verified by Nikon’s proprietary Image Authentication System. When an image gets edited, this key is overwritten, and the software does this automatically.

App Lets You Convert Photo’s Text To A Document + Edit

Google has released a native Google Docs application for Android today that has a special feature. The new feature allows users to turn photos with text into documents that can be edited through the smartphone. The Google Docs app for Android is intended for download solely through the Android market and will only be available in English for Android 2.1 and later.

The app enables users to tap a button to create a new document from a photo or by selecting the camera icon from the widget. The document also appears in the document list after the phone user snaps the picture.

Acer Rolls Out 24″ Internet LCD Monitor

Acer has come forth with a new product called the DX241H web surf station. What does it do? It’s a 24-inch LCD monitor that comes with internet access. The suggested retail is 300 pounds, just about $500 USD. The price suggests that we are dealing with a netbook tech spec ordeal, enclosed within a 24-inch monitor. The machine runs on the Freescale i.MX51 system, an ARM Cortex A8 architecture and runs at 800MHz. No clue yet as to how much memory it has, but I think 1GB is a safe guess.

Samsung’s Ultra Slim And Affordable 16MP Camera

Samsung has added to it’s slim-line ST range of compact cameras. The company has recently announced that it will be adding a 16MP camera to its product line. The ST93 will feature enhanced optical performance through the camera’s Dual Image Stabilization, combining both digital and optical image stabilization technology.

The company also says that the Dual IS functionality will provide clearer images in any environment, preventing distorted photos. The gorgeous camera will also feature a 26mm 5x optical zoom lens and a Smart Filter feature to apply different effects to one’s photos.

Intel demonstrated a focused on camera that recognizes both facial and gesture input at Intel Developer Forum, Beijing 2011. The demo begun by showing an avatar being controlled by having the camera map on the user’s face. This mapping allowed the user to control the avatar’s head movements as well as the facial features, enabling the avatar to laugh, smile, frown, or look confused.

The gesture recognition allows users to control and navigate the user interface with the wave of a hand. This hand waving allows photos to move from right to left, zoom in and out and rotate pictures in clockwise or counterclockwise directions.
