A £13 billion private investment by Virgin Media is making the Internet its fastest ever in London. Virgin Media, a popular and leading company is now providing Internet speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps which is 240 times faster than the average speed provided in London.

Almost every user is connected to a unique fiber optic cable network of Virgin Media through a high quality coaxial cable with almost negligible resistance. This is not the first time by Virgin media that they are crossing the limits in making things fast.

Twitter Gears Up To Launch Photo Sharing Service

Twitter has some exciting news for users around the world! The social media giant is geared up to launch its own photo-sharing service, due next week. All I can say is, beware Twitpic and Yfrog! Twitter is currently set on revealing the upcoming photo-sharing service at the D9 conference in California. Twitter’s CEO, Dick Costolo will formally introduced the new image sharing service on Wednesday.

Although current third party image sharing sites make their money through the advertisements displayed, it is uncertain how the new Twitter’s business model will work. Some expect the new service to work similar to Twing.com.

Sony has released the Crackle app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch this past Monday. The new application allows consumers to stream full-length movies and television shows to their respective Apple devices, for free. That’s right, users can enjoy unlimited, on demand viewing for free. The app comes as an extension of the www.crackle.com website it streams movies and television episodes at the cost of the viewer watching a couple of commercials. If you’ve already connected the dots, this service is very similar to Hulu.

Groupon Buys Pelago, Gaining Firm Grasp on “Social”

Groupon, the popular “deals” website has recently acquired the creators of Whrrl, a company called Pelago. Pelago was founded in 2006 in Seattle and is best known for its location based services app for the iPhone, Android, and Blackberry. The app is called Whrrl and works like Foursquare, aiming to get people to explore their neighborhood and recommend their favorite places to friends and family. Groupon was founded just two years ago in Chicago and has since then expanded to more than 40 countries around the world, carrying a powerful user base of over 35 million.

VEVO Signs Rebecca Black For $5M Record Deal
