Texas Researchers Hack Drones…

University of Texas at Austin did what many countries failed to do, they hijacked an American drone by spoofing its GPS signals. The news comes as the United States Federal Aviation Authority prepares to integrate drones into the country’s national airspace system. It was actually mandated by FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2012, Which was signed in to law by President Obama earlier this February.

10 Military Newspapers Taken Down In A Single Hack

We all remember President Obama threatening the public a few months ago. He basically said that he would take any cyber attack against the US government very seriously and may even counter attack with force.

Well, it seems like a hacker may have found a loophole into attacking the US government, that is, by attacking Government Newspaper publications. 10 military newspapers were hacked earlier this month and just yesterday the military had admitted the hacks.

Obama’s Chief Information Officer Steps Down

Vivek Kundra, the first person ever appointed as Chief Information Officer by a president has just put in his resignation. Kundra will be leaving the Obama administration in August, and although President Obama has stated that he will replace Kundra, we do not have a list of potential contenders.

During his three year stay, Kundra’s job was to improve communications between the American people, expand the adoption of cloud-based systems (seems to have worked), and oversee the government’s technical operations as a monetary and security watchdog.

Obama Reserves Right To Bomb Hackers

Has our President been hanging around with George Bush a bit much lately? One may guess that based on what Obama has recently said. In a personal foreword (link to webpage with PDF) to document International Strategy for Cyberspace, the President claimed that the country would preserve the character of cyberspace and reduce the threats faced. President O-bomb-a reserves the right to take military action against cyber-terrorists who attempt to hack into the U.S. government.
