Facebook Buys iPad Book Publisher

Looks like the social networking giant Facebook is now making a leap in to e-book industry. Push Pop Press is a renowned iPad e-book publisher known for re-mastering and publishing content such as Al Gore’s “Our Choice”.

The publisher had been working on some other titles for touch devices lately. According to latest reports Facebook has procured Push Pop Press. We can’t tell what exactly Facebook is going to do with the acquisition but one thing is clear that Facebook is definitely not going to publish e-books.

Facebook Recruiting Former Obama Press Secretary

According to the Andrew Ross Sorkin from the NY Times Deal Book, Facebook is actively seeking to hire Robert Gibbs for a senior role in corporate communications. As you may recall, Gibbs is President Obama’s former White House press secretary. Mr. Gibbs left the White House in February to a job in the private sector and became outside adviser to the administration.

The Daily – The Digital News App or Is It A Publication ?

Last year News Corp said it was developing the first ever daily newspaper in digital format, and on February 2, 2011 at a New York event, Rupert Murdoch – CEO of News Corporation, unveiled the much anticipated “The Daily”, first-of-its-kind digital daily news publication built exclusively as an iPad application for its users.


A typical issue of has up to 100 pages and its content is divided into six main categories i.e. news, opinion, sports, arts and life, gossip and celebrity, apps and games gathered from sources across the world.


The Daily is not limited to once a day issue like a typical news paper, the editors keep updating the content throughout the day and interact with readers on its blog.
