18 Year Old Killed From Craigslist Meetup

An innocent 18 year old from San Diego was killed after meeting “someone” on Craigslist to sell his computer for $600. Instead of an innocent meetup, three individuals showed up and murdered the 18 year old boy, stole his cash and cell phone. The three attackers are named Rashon Abernathy, Seandell Jones and Shaquille Jordan and each were charged as adults with murder and robbery. Each faces a maximum penalty of life in prison if convicted. San Diego Superior Court Judge Joseph Brannigan entered not-guilty pleas on their behalf and set the bail at $5 million for each of them.

Solar Powered Prison Facilities Save $55M

In addition to educational programs for prisoners, California’s “Con College” will give an opportunity for prisoners to lower their carbon footprint. The CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation) will be adding 23 megawatts of solar-generated power at five state prison facilities in Southern California. The CDCR has estimated that the solar projects will save taxpayers more than $55 million over the long term.

Woman Racks Up 200K In Data Charges

We have just learned that a 33 year old woman from Australia is in debt of $193,187.43 after being sentenced to a year and a half in prison for stealing a SIM card from a utility meter. The woman’s name is Kylie Maree Monks and the sentence came after she plead guilty to computer-related fraud, receiving stolen property, and one count of making a false statement.

She was also charged for stealing a SIM card from a utility meter, that had a WiFi connection Telstra’s wireless broadband network.

According to UberGizmo, a Colorado woman was sentenced to ten years in prison for the death of her one year old son. The woman’s reason was that she was playing Cafe World on Facebook and had left her son to bathe for ten minutes on his own. She will be locked up for neglect. The woman claimed that she wanted her child to be independent and therefore left him to himself. It’s a tragic story, and goes to show you that not everyone is fit to be a parent.
