Scientists Plan To Make Animal-Human Hybrid

In order to understand the biology of human life in more depth, scientists of Britain are working on mixing genes of humans with animals. The British academy of medical sciences released a report where they suggested that a nation must remain ready for a future where genes of humans and animals will be blend together.

After polling from citizens, most people are worried about transforming the animal brain to work more like a human, changing the appearance of animals i.e. some part of animal looking like any body part of human and creating embryos of human inside animals or vice versa.

MacBook Air Gets 19nm NAND Flash Upgrade

If you’re one of the billions of Apple fans, you’ll be happy to hear that the new MacBook Airs are getting Toshiba 19nm NAND Flash memory chips. The news was spilled recently when Asian components manufacturers had revealed the flash memory chips will come in the new MacBook Air.

Thanks to shrinking technologies, the new 19nm process would would offer data transfer speeds as fast as 400MB per second, using a Toggle DDR2.0 interface. Toshiba, having recently unveiled multi-level cell memory, are seen as pioneers in the industry.

Qualcomm Announces Dual Core 1.5GHz Mobile CPU

Qualcomm has shown off its dual-core mobile processor this week at Computex. Qualcomm’s pride and joy 1.2GHz processor has received a refresh and now boasts speeds of up to 1.5GHz. Under the names: MSM826, MSM8860, and QSD8672, the zippy mobile processors are expected to hit smartphones later this year.

Many of the current mobile manufacturers are already designing their phones based around the processors (and we are hoping larger battery capacities too!). In a world where two cores are better than one, this will mean for better mobile gaming, multimedia enjoyment, and faster “everything” on your mobile device.

Intel + Apple, A Match Made In Heaven

Intel’s Senior Vice President, Tom Kilroy has recently revealed that Intel and Apple are working closely together on Apple’s future products. Kilroy is state that Apple helps shape Intel’s roadmap. This makes sense to me because unlike PC manufacturers that have an option of choosing Intel, AMD, or ARM, Apple has been using Intel processors for years and years.

The duo have quite a solid history together and it would make sense for them to team up to take on the world, especially when Intel knows that Apple won’t flock over to AMD or ARM for business.

VIA Releases First QuadCore Chip

While Intel and AMD dominate the majority of the computer processing market, VIA is still a key player in the system. VIA chips are typically used on smaller, lower cost devices where either budget or power concerns are key issues. The newest VIA chip is the world’s lowest power quad-core x86 processor and is named QuadCore. The brand new chip will be arriving in June of this year and will be a very efficient muti-core architecture chip that provides multi-threaded performance.

Thanks to a recent leak of the Windows 8 build 7955, alexerax showed us a video that demonstrates the Metro user-interface. The video displays the basic setup of a wireless network in the upcoming Windows 8. It seems like Microsoft will be incorporating its design language across many Microsoft products and with this video, we are able to catch an early glimpse of the software!

Although Windows 8 is far from public availability, this leak adds to an exciting laundry list that has accumulated over the past weeks.
