Playstation Vita Can Serve As PS3 Remote

Sony’s next generation PlayStation portable, aka PlayStation Vita is already making a huge buzz regarding its rich hardware and cool features. The device is expected to reach stores in October.

We have already been hearing a lot about the device’s feature to synchronize content with PlayStation 3. But according to latest reports, the device can possibly serve as a PS3 remote control.

Sony has a new PlayStation-branded 3D display that uses stereoscopic technology to display two different full-screen images to produce a 3D experience, using active shutter 3D technology.

Now, before you get all excited about the 3D screen, you have to realize that only PS3 games programmed to make use of the feature will work as 3D, meaning that you won’t get 3D picture on all of your games.

Sony Hits The 50 Million Mark Of PS3 Consoles Sold

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that it has sold 50 million PlayStation 3 consoles, globally, as of March 29th. The company has also announced that sales of the PlayStation Move has surpassed 8 million units, globally. Sony claims the title of King with 75 million registered users and tens of thousands of games, music video and movie downloads made available with the PlayStation Store.

Hacker Group Targets Sony Websites And Employees

In response to PS3 Hacker, Geohot’s case. a group of anonymous hackers warned Sony yesterday that targeting Geohot was a suppression of free speech. The group warned Sony to “expect them” and issued a DDoS attack on Sony.com and Playstation.com. Although the sites were taken back by Sony, users experienced slower than normal loading speeds. Although Sony did not acknowledge the attacks, they sent out a tweet saying “PSN currently under sporadic maintenance” and “access to PSN may be interrupted throughout the day.” Today, the hacking group has released the following statement:

PlayStation Games On Your Smartphone, We’re Finally Here

Sony PlayStation games are now available on Google’s Android Market. So far, some PlayStation 1 games made available are: Syphon Filter, MediEvil, and Cool Boarders 2. The titles are available for $6.38 at the moment with many more expected to roll out in the coming weeks. This of course is all happening before Sony Ericsson’s Xperia PLAY will be released.

The Xperia PLAY will be the first PlayStation Certified Android smartphone and will, as the name hints at, be able to play original PlayStation games downloaded through the Android Market. Verizon will be the only carrier to support the Xperia PLAY, at least for now, and the device it expected to ship…
