Xbox 720: Release Date & Price Expectations

If you couldn’t get your hands on one of the world’s most favorite gaming console because it was too expensive, well, Microsoft has been working on that problem lately by producing cheaper gaming consoles i.e. Xbox.

The top technology developing firm wants its consumers to get their products without having to worry about their trip to Hawaii. Microsoft has always been a secretive company and only shows the world what it has been working on when it wants to. Usually it has never been on the bad side of product information leakage. Microsoft announced that they were working on a new hardware and the successor of Xbox 360.

PlayStation Comic Store On PSP Is Shutting Down

Launched back in 2009, the PSP’s Digital Comics Reader grew a loyal consumer base as the library of comics swelled past 4,000. However, if you were a fan of the service, we have got some bad news for you – no more comics will be coming to the PSP.

Since the launch of the service , the digital comics store has provided many comics from publishers such as Marvel, DC, and IDW. A very small handful of those comics are actually free, so you might as well check them out.

Sony Music Ireland Website Got Hacked

Sony Music Ireland said its web site was hacked Monday after three bogus news stories appeared on the homepage. It was the latest in a string of attacks on Sony dating back to the infiltration of its PlayStation and Qriocity networks in April.

One fake article at the Sony Music Ireland site had the headline “Tragedy Strikes The Script” and reported the death of two band members. Sony issued a statement that said the band members are indeed fine. The hackers also posted fake articles about Rebecca Black, R Kelly and “X Factor” contestants.

Sony Set To Launch New PS4 In 2012

According to a post at DigiTimes, Sony will begin manufacturing the PS4 in late 2011 in order to be ready for a 2012 launch. Further, the PS4 will have full-body motion controls similar to what Microsoft has done with Kinect, and Sony plans to ship at least 20 million units in 2012.

Desperate to revive flagging sales, Sony is believed to have bought the launch date forward in an effort to boost revenues from their Playstation Division as consumers stop buying Sony Bravia TVs.

PlayStation Network To Be Fully Restored This Week

When the Sony’s PSN website was targeted by hackers back in April, the site was taken down with millions of users unable to access the service. The service was down for around a month in most of the world, but users in Japan are still waiting for the full service to come back online. But today we have some good news as the PlayStation Network is to finally be fully restored with Japan PS Store switch on.

Sony previously announced deadlines for recovery, including an announcement on April 21 that it might be “a full day or two” before PSN was restored. On May 1, Sony Executive Deputy President Kazuo Hirai promised restoration by the end of that week. Two weeks later, on May 14, the company announced the first phase of the network’s resumption. And most recently, Sony has promised full restoration by the end of the week.

Members Of Anonymous Hacking Group, Arrested

Well, what do you know? Three suspected members of the Anonymous Hacking group were arrested today in Spain. The arrests were made in Barcelona, Valencia, and Almeria. For those who may have forgotten, the Anonymous hacking group is responsible for the attacks on Sony, Spanish banks, and possibly other attacks.

The arrests were actually as part of an investigation that had begun in October 2010. It looks like some of the attacks made by members of the group used a web-based tool called Loic to bombard the target sites with data. Furthermore, Paypal, Mastercard, and Amazon were each targeted using this tool.

Stolen Xperia Plays Delay Launch

If you’ve been waiting for Sony’s Xperia Play, you may have to keep waiting. The New Zealand launch was delayed not on the fault of Sony, but rather an entire shipment of Xperia Plays were stolen. Could this be the work of the same hackers who destroyed the lives of Sony executives? Kind of makes you think, doesn’t it? Regardless of who stole the shipment, I wonder how they intend to sell all those Xperia’s while the feds closely monitor Craigslist and eBay for Xperia Play sales.

After weeks of downtime, millions of stolen credit cards, a hundred million hacked accounts, and pure frustration, gamers can finally game on a network that is purportedly more secure than before. The PlayStation Network is finally back online in the United States, Canada, and Europe. With the new system, gamers are required to reset their passwords, and can enjoy the gaming they expect from the Play Station 3. Sony’s Executive Deputy President Kazuo Hirai gave another standard apology to customers and thanked them once again for their patience in the matter.
