Tesco Brings Virtual Shopping To Subway Stations

Tesco, known as Fresh & Easy in America, and Home Plus in South Korea has come up with the concept to use photos of grocery products, as well as QR codes. The grocery products will be displayed on billboards, subway stations, and users will simply have to scan the image using the camera on their smartphone and add the item to their virtual basket.

The users can also pay through the platform and have the items delivered to them on the same day. This means that working mothers can scan some vegetables, fruit, and a few other necessary products, continue on with their day and come home without having to visit the grocery store.

A new ‘paperless office’ service called OfficeDrop, now lets you lose the file cabinets and organize everything through cloud storage. OfficeDrop is a multi-user service that includes custom scanning software for Windows, Macs, and Android phones.

Here’s how it works, you begin by scanning a document into OfficeDrop. The application then saves it as a searchable PDF. You can then easily search OfficeDrop with a few key terms to narrow down your search, and the application will pull it up instantaneously.

New Dutch Coin Can Be Scanned

The Royal Dutch Mint has just produced a limited edition of QR coded coins to celebrate the 100th (centennial) anniversary of the Mint in Utrecht. The silver coin is worth 5 euros and the gold coin is worth 10 euros. Both coins will be issued this month, on June 22nd.

What makes these coins unique is that you can scan the code that is found on the back of each coin. Supposedly the code will provide information on where the coin was manufactured, and the scan currently points to this site.
