ZTE Kis Now Available At Virgin

ZTE along with its partner UK mobile carrier Virgin Mobile have rolled out their up-to-the-minute cheaper Android smartphone, the ZTE Kis. The ZTE Kis features Android SO v2.3.5 Gingerbread and is made available on Virgin Media’s pay across the UK. The phone has dimensions of 114.5 x 62.5 x 11.5 mm, touch-sensitive controls and a reasonably large HVGA capacitive touch display of 3.5 inch.

Mozilla Plans New Operating System

There is currently a race going on between smartphones’ operating system companies Google and Apple, both leading with their Android and iOS operating systems. But guess what? Mozilla is also joining the race.

Mozilla has announced that it will be working on development of a new opeating system. This will be an open source operating system. It is code named as “Boot To Gecko” as it is powered by Gecko, a layout rendering engine. It will be a completely open source operating system unlike Android.

Samsung’s Latest Firmware Leaked

Samsung was working on two new Firmwares for their two Galaxy S smartphones: Epic 4G and Galaxy S 4G. But to Samsung’s disappointment, the new Firmwares were leaked even before Samsung announced them. A tech website SamFirmware has been able to get hands on the new firmware updates.

The Epic 4G is currently bonded with Sprint’s 4G network and the Galaxy S 4G with T-Mobile. These firmware updates bring some serious improvements in the overall user experience. The update for the Epic 4G is named EG22 while the update for Galaxy S 4G is codenamed KG4. The current version of Android running on the machines is 2.3.4, Gingerbread.

Alibaba To Launch Mobile Operating System

Alibaba is one of the E-commerce leading companies of China. The company recently announced in Shanghai that it is planning to launch a mobile operating system; which means, the company will be joining the two colossal OS industries i.e. Google and Apple.

Alibaba is also going to roll out its first smartphone next week in Beijing.

LEAK: Apple Works On 3D Gesture Control Tech For iOS

Apple Inc. has filed a new patent for 3D gesture control with a physics metaphor control. Hopefully Apple is just experimenting with future technologies because I can’t imagine the iPhone 5 having NFC, 3D video recording, and virtually every ‘latest and greatest’ feature we’ve been learning about recently.

I mean, can’t a phone be *too powerful for its own good? Anyways, the developing technology was first reported as a patent leak and people suspect Apple will use this as some kind of tool for developers to better aid themselves in the workplace.
