2012 Mobile Devices Will See Quad Core Nvidia Chips

Currently on the mobile market, we are seeing smartphones and tablets teeter between single and dual cores, and while all this is powerful enough for the types of applications we use today, we need to continue to push ourselves if technology is ever to evolve.

I think the applications that will be most intensive on processors will be gaming and perhaps HD movie watching at a better resolution that phones and tablets are currently rocking at the moment.

Pantech Releasing Water Proof Smartphone

No one ever thought that a water and dust proof cell phone would be available. And nobody definitely thought about that kind of Smartphone. But Pantech has made it possible.

Pantech is releasing it’s latest smartphone, the Pantech MIRACH IS11PT. This smartphone is controlled by 1GHz second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 SoC CPU. It runs on the Google Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS. It has a 3.7-inch WVGA screen with a resolution of 480 x 800.

Huawei Brings First Android Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet

Electronics manufacturer, Huawei, has just unveiled its 7″ MediaPad tablet, being the first to run the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The major difference between this version of Android, and previous versions of Android is that Ice Cream Sandwich is designed to work on smaller tablet devices as well.

The MediaPad is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and contains a high pixel density display. While the Motorola Xoom currently has the title for highest pixel density at 160ppi (pixels per ince), the new Huawei MediaPad has a pixel density of 217ppi. Just for reference, the iPad 2 only has a paltry 132ppi.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Leak: Urushi / ST18i

We’ve just heard some news about the all-new Sony Ericsson Urushi, or ST18i as some call it. While the device is shiny and beautiful, the inside specs aren’t as impressive as its outer shell. The device is equipped with a 1GHz ARM processor, a speed that feels a little sluggish compared to the more recent 1.5GHz models.

In addition to the slower cpu, Sony slapped on 335MB of RAM while HTC & co. are equipping their new devices with 768MB of RAM.

HTC Doubleshot, Unveiled Next Week?

It looks like T-Mobile is geared up to announce three new phones next week, one of which we have not yet covered: The HTC Doubleshot. The HTC Doubleshot wasn’t meant to take lightly, featuring Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a powerful MSM 8660 Dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon CPU, and 768MB of RAM, users know they will have the power to handle multiple intensive applications, simultaneously.

The 3.7″ WVGA display might just be just the medium to see what you’re doing, while the 8MP back facing camera can record 1080p 3D recording!

$1350 Smartphone- 3GHz CPU And 13MP Camera

If you thought you knew about the world’s fastest smartphone, think again. BSquare is currently selling a smartphone with two Qualcomm 1.5GHz chips for a total of 3GHz computing power. The dual MSM8660 chip smartphone comes packed with Android Gingerbread and an Adreno 220 GPU. The phone has quite a bit of memory, with the base model starting at 16GB of onboard flash memory with an additional micro SD slot for extra storage.

The Pantech Vega Racer: World’s Fastest Phone

Pantech, a Korean based company, offers many impressive handheld cellphones, the newest of which is called the Vega Racer, claimed to be the world’s first 1.5GHz dual-core smartphone. The Vega Racer uses Qualcomm’s MSM8660 Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 220 GPU. The device carries a large 4.3″ LCD screen giving users the simultaneous enjoyment of beauty and brains.

The piece of hardware weighs to be about 4.23 ounces and is 9mm thin. The smartphone features an advanced 8MP rear camera with a 1.3MP front-facing camera and seems to be quite a contender against next-generation smartphones.

Sharp AQUOS IS11H Has Surprising Twist

Sharp will be rolling out a new AQUOS phone, this time with a interesting twist. The new phone has a slide-out numeric key, talk about old school! I would hate to buy that phone on impulse in a store, slide-out the keyboard and instead of typing an easy text on the expected QWERTY keyboard, experience shock and horror while staring back at those numeric keys. The phone also looks like it has a 4-way directional key, oldddd school!

Leaked: HTC Holiday Coming Your Way

Yep, that’s right, it’s called the HTC Holiday (not displayed in photo), and you’re going to love this phone just as much as you enjoy your time off from work. The Android smartphone was recently leaked and gives us the information we need to write a blog about it. Verizon will be the lucky carrier to be receiving this powerhouse of a phone. The device will be well equipped with LTE capabilities and run on a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor.

Do you like large screens? I hope so, because this smartphone will pack a 4.5″ qHD display running at 540 x 960 resolution. Don’t worry about multi-tasking because the Holiday will be able to handle whatever you throw at it with it’s plentiful 1GB of RAM.
