CA Buys Watchmouse

CA, an IT company which provides software support and solutions to businesses has now moved a step further in providing website monitoring and security services. CA has recently acquired Watchmouse.

Watchmouse is an online service which provides sites, servers and application monitoring services to businesses. However, CA has not disclosed the amount paid for Watchmouse’s acquisition. Watchmouse has a large monitoring network of 60 monitoring stations working in more than 40 countries. These monitoring stations are used to conduct regular activities on demand of the consumer.

U.S. Spreads Democracy Through Shadow Networks

The Obama administration is leading a global effort to deploy “shadow” Internet and Mobile phone systems that citizens of repressed governments can use to bypass censorship in their native countries. The initiative is funded with $2 million from a State Department grant and the Internet is deployed from a small briefcase.

The idea is to smuggle the briefcase (full of Internet) across the border and quickly set it up to allow wireless communication over a wide area with a link to the world wide web. This could be the first step out of many that gives people a greater freedom to step up against their government. The new liberation-technology movement involves creating these stealth wireless networks so activists can communicate outside their government’s ears in countries like Iran, Syria, and Libya.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Leak: Urushi / ST18i

We’ve just heard some news about the all-new Sony Ericsson Urushi, or ST18i as some call it. While the device is shiny and beautiful, the inside specs aren’t as impressive as its outer shell. The device is equipped with a 1GHz ARM processor, a speed that feels a little sluggish compared to the more recent 1.5GHz models.

In addition to the slower cpu, Sony slapped on 335MB of RAM while HTC & co. are equipping their new devices with 768MB of RAM.
