Galaxy S2 Gets A QWERTY Keyboard

The Samsung Galaxy S2, powered by Android, is already making news in Asia and Europe as the best Android Smartphone yet. However, US users have yet to experience the epic of this handset. This cool smartphone is expected to arrive in the US in late July or August as the news suggests.

Also, different carriers will have this smartphone released under different names. The Sprint variant will be called the Samsung Within, on AT&T the Attain, and on Verizon, the Function. Looks like AT&T’s version is making a huge change in the handset’s design which is simply cool. Yes, it’s true. AT&T will be releasing the Attain with a QWERTY keyboard.

Samsung’s Latest Firmware Leaked

Samsung was working on two new Firmwares for their two Galaxy S smartphones: Epic 4G and Galaxy S 4G. But to Samsung’s disappointment, the new Firmwares were leaked even before Samsung announced them. A tech website SamFirmware has been able to get hands on the new firmware updates.

The Epic 4G is currently bonded with Sprint’s 4G network and the Galaxy S 4G with T-Mobile. These firmware updates bring some serious improvements in the overall user experience. The update for the Epic 4G is named EG22 while the update for Galaxy S 4G is codenamed KG4. The current version of Android running on the machines is 2.3.4, Gingerbread.

Samsung Nexus S Arriving On AT&T

Android is currently the world’s most largely adopted Operating System by the smart phone industry and contributing to the market is Samsung’s Nexus smartphone line. The Nexus S smartphone, co developed by Google and Samsung is a highly admired smartphone, and already available to T-Mobile and Sprint users.

AT&T users have long been waiting for its arrival on AT&T’s network and this wait is finally over as the handset is arriving on the network on 24th july 2011. What more could an Android fan ask for?

3D is a buzz word today, but HTC did a fine job of integrating it into to a smart phone and the users no longer have to use the old looking and sometime even expensive multi colored 3D glasses.

Samsung Conquer 4G Launching On July 24

According to a leaked internal document of Sprint, the Samsung Conquer 4G will launch on July 24.

Samsung Conquer 4G will be packed with a 3.5 inch screen with HVGA resolution, something we haven’t seen since the iPhone 3GS, 1 GHz processor with Android 2.3 on top, 3.2 megapixel camera, and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera.

Nokia’s Messaging Business Goes To UK’s Synchronica

The UK-based mobile messaging company Synchronica has inked a deal to take over Nokia’s operator-branded messaging business in a deal worth about $25 million—including a scant $4 million up front and warrants for some 18.3 million common shares in Synchronica.

Synchronica plans to continue to operate and support Nokia’s messaging system, so existing partners and customers shouldn’t’ see any disruptions.

New Bill Requires Carriers To Give Guaranteed Min. Data Speed

A new piece of legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives would require mobile carriers to provide a ‘guaranteed minimum’ for their data speeds to their potential customers. This would give customers a better idea of what they are signing up for, especially with unlimited data plans becoming a rarity.

Currently, wireless carriers provide a maximum speed which leaves many customers to assume that if they sign up with the wireless carrier, they too will receive similar speeds as the maximum. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case and leaves many consumers with a bitter taste in their mouth.
