Kingston Launches HyperX SandForce SSD

Kingston announced the release of HuperX Sandforce a couple of months ago and now it is ready for shipping. The SSDs feature an extraordinary read and write speed.

These SSDs feature 120GB and 240GB storage capacities. They are capable of up to 555MB/s of sequential read speed and 510MB/s sequential write speed.

Dropbox Moving To A Bigger Office

Dropbox is an application which allows users to share and sync files, data, videos and lots of stuff with other dropbox users sing your computer, phones and other devices. The company is growing very fast and now they are about to hire hundreds of people.

Dropbox company had decided to move their current office which is only 11,000 sq. ft. to a new office situated in San Francisco Market Street across the town to 185 Berry Street in China Basin which is around 85,000 sq. ft.. This is just down the street from AT&T park. The movement is planned next year.

GE Working On 1TB Storage Compact Discs

GE has just revealed a breakthrough in optical storage that can greatly reduce the number of CD case space you’ll need in your one bedroom apartment. They’ve revealed a 500GB disc that can store up to 20 blu-rays, or 100 standard DVDs.

The breakthrough may offer new way to store our digital media. For example, one could store up to 100 Action-genre movies on one disc, and up to 100 Romance-genre movies on another disc, and a collection of 10 discs could hold up to a 1,000 movies.

U.S. Shutting Down Data Centers To Save Taxpayer Woes

In order to save money, the US federal government decided to shut down more than 350 data centers by the end of 2012 and another 400 by end of 2015. This was decided to save billions of dollars from US taxpayers.

Currently, more than 2000 data centers with 40 percent storage capacity and 27 percent computing capacity are running across the country.

The decision is quite good in saving money but what about the employees working there? Thirty states will be affected by this decision…

The SDHC/SD and micro SDHC/SD Essential Memory Cards have a varying performance rating of Class 4 and Class 5. They have a warranty of 5 years. These cards’ capacity varies from 2GB to 16GB with write speed up to 13MB/s.
