Android Dominates Mobile OS Market

The OS war between different mobile operating system vendors is not new. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, RIM are some of the major contenders.

However, a study that was conducted recently states that Google dominates this pool of contenders with its Android OS. A research firm named Canalys recently carried out this survey which indicated that almost half of the world’s smartphones run Android while there is a major gap between iOS and Android. About 48 percent of the OS market belongs to Android while mere 19 percent is owned by iOS.

Survey Depicts Popularity Of iPhone 5

So far, Apple has not given any clue regarding the release of its new iPhone 5 except what we have from anonymous resources. Even at the Worldwide Developers Conference held in June, Apple remained silent regarding the rumors about the new device.

However, this new iPhone is widely anticipated by the US as well as international consumers. A survey was conducted by PriceGrabbar recently, which showed people’s interest in the new i-device. According to a CNET report, 35% of US consumers are willing to buy the new iPhone after its release. The study in which about 2852 people participated, was conducted in early July.

Survey Finds Americans Addicted To Youtube

Broadband and other facilities such as better mobile networks and devices have caused a huge impact on the citizens of many countries.

The recent survey showed that US citizens are more addicted to videos sites such as Youtube. About 28 percent of online users pay a visit to video sharing sites daily and over 71 percent of online american users, use websites related to video sharing.

Survey Says: People Prefer WP7 To Android

If You thought Android was the best after Apple`s IOS-based iPhone, you got it wrong. Microsoft has made promises to add a dazzling 500 more features in there new Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’.

According to a survey by Change Wave the old users of Windows phone are more than satisfied with the performance and features of the smart phone, than the Android users.

People at Change Wave report “the higher Windows Phone 7 rating has yet to produce a sustained momentum boost for Microsoft in term of buyer preferences.”

Facebook Scam: Photographer Committed Suicide After Shooting Video

If you use Facebook, you might already be aware of the new scam going around that attempts to get you to click through it. The ad reads something like “Photographer committed SUICIDE 3 days after shooting THIS video!” and is followed by a link.

Of course, you can guess where the link leads to- a message that says “This really must have been an awkward moment” followed by a Share link that is written in the Finnish language.

AT&T LTE Tests Show Amazing Speeds

AT&T did a demonstration of its own LTE network in Plano,Texas. It has very impressive results. The LTE network speed was an amazing 28.87 Mbits/s down and 10.4 Mbits/s up. This is way faster than what was reported of the Verizon’s speed. The Verizon’s LTE scored scored peak speeds of 18.6Mbps down and 5.7Mbps up on the LTE network, with averages of 9.2Mbps down and 3.4Mbps up.

Sprint is not the biggest of most of the major cell phone carries, but customers are most pleased with their customer service. There was a survey done for the American Consumer Satisfaction that reflects the pleased customers of Sprint Nextel. The survey was done by 8,000 people.

According To A Nielsen Survey, Android Beats iOS

According the the Nielsen Company’s monthly surveys of U.S. mobile consumers between July through September 2010, consumers had a preference of the Apple iPhone over the Android smartphone. At that time, iPhone (33%) beat Android (26%), with RIM BlackBerry at 13%. According to the latest figures from January 2011 through March 2011, 31% of consumers now prefer Android, with Apple tagging along at 30%, and RIM BlackBerry down to 11%.

UK Survey Gets The Scoop On iPhone Users

According to the Inquirer, an intrusive UK survey published by Yougov offered some interesting insights on iPhone users. The survey examined 2,000 UK citizens, and discovered that 66% of respondents admitted to owning a mobile phone, with a third of the sample admitted to owning a smartphone. The survey was funded by the banking software firm, IE.
