Dell Works On i5 Windows Tablet W/ Full HD

We’ve just got word that Dell may be working on a new tablet, this time of Windows-flavor. The company had previously released the Dell Streak, and more recently, the Dell Streak Pro, which both ran on Google’s Android operating system.

The idea of a Windows tablet may seem exciting to some, but many have already abandoned the idea of owning a Dell tablet, after many reports of a weak battery life and general underperformance from the company.

Heavy Tablet Production Begins For Fall Season

This Fall, you can expect to see some heavy tablet production from all the major brand names. When you combine the high demand of both tablet PCs and iPads for this summer, you can only expect the demand to skyrocket during the Fall season, as kids go back to school and people begin to do some early Christmas shopping.

Sources state that around 15 million tablets are expected to ship by the end of summer, with an expected 21 million to ship later this year during the Fall season.

Acer Orders 80,000 AMD Z Processors For New Tablet?

It looks like Acer has just placed a big order for AMD Z series APUs for a possible new tablet lineup. The company placed an order for 80,000 of the AMD processors, and the new tablets are likely going to dive into the enterprise market.

No clue on whether or not the new tablets will feature Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich or Windows 7 but I would vote for the less expensive operating system. Although, Windows may just be the victor, since I can’t imagine businesses adopting the Android platform, unless maybe they’re a startup.

Leak: MSI WindPad 7, ARMed With 1.2GHz Of Power

It looks like MSI is not focusing solely on ten-inch tablets this year, as the company will be introducing a new seven inch Android tablet called the WindPad 7. To me, “Windpad” sounds like a Windows tablet, but hey, whatever makes them happy! The seven inch model features a zippy 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor which will give your table the boost it needs in life.

Users will be able to enjoy Android Gingerbread on the 800 x 480 pixel capacitive multitouch display and will get 512MB of RAM to play with.

ZiiLabs Shows Off Honeycomb Tablets

Shortly after ZiiLabs revealed its new ZMS-20 and ZMS-40 StemCell processors, the company announced a new family of tablet PCs that will run the ZMS processors. The Jaguar tablets will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb and will come in two versions. The first is composed by a seven inch screen, carrying a modest 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The second shows off a more practical ten-inch screen, carrying a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Both of the Jaguar tablets come with a large 64GB internal hard drive and offer capacitive and resistive touchscreen support. Each tablet also supports OpenGL ES 2.0 3D graphics and feature dual cameras (5MP rear camera). Running the devices will be the dual-core ARM Cortex A9 ZMS20 or quad core ZMS40, each clocked at 1.5GHz, stock.
