Nintendo: 73% Of Gamers Use Our Stuff

An internal study done by Nintendo claims that 73% of US gamers prefer to use Nintendo products over other gaming consoles. Before you go, “Hey, wait a second…”, the large percentage includes 43% of players who play exclusively on its products and another 30% who play on Nintendo as well as other consoles.

If these statistics are supposed to make me by a console, better luck next time, Nintendo. Another thing I would like to see back up those percentages would be a sample group, who exactly was surveyed, etc. If the sample group was only 100 people, then the results should be taken with a grain of salt.

40% Of All Xbox360 Activity Is Non-Gaming

According to Microsoft’s blog, about 40% of all Xbox 360 activity is non-gaming. So what are people using their Xbox machines for? Video streaming. Whether it’s the Netflix application, ESPN streaming, or Hulu, people get the majority of their Xbox360 fix through non-gaming activities.

While Microsoft seems to think this is cool, I wonder what these statistics say about the game console? Is it that modern Xbox games are boring or are they just too expensive for consumer needs right now?

Team Fortress 2’s New Feature: Replay Editor

Team Fortress 2 players, listen up! There’s a new in-game feature called the Replay Update that allows gamers to record their best moments and later edit the footage. If you’re a pro sniper, tactical demo-man, or all-out backstabbing spy, make sure you record your awesome footage so you can share it with all your friends!
