New Sony Cybershots Coming This Month ?

If sources are to be believed, Sony will announce a new compact camera later this month. No official announcement yet but still it will be interesting to see what kind of new features will be coming with the new stuff.

According to popular rumors, Sony has chosen a completely new sensor for the upcoming professional SLT (Translucent) camera. The sensor will have 24 Megapixels but don’t worry, the noise performance of the sensor is equal if not better than current 14-16 Megapixels Sony sensors used for the NEX and A33/A55 cameras.

Windows 8 To Support Xbox 360 Games ?

A number of sites are reporting that the Xbox 360 games could be playable on the next Windows operating system, Windows 8. While not yet confirmed, it could have many implications if true. Apparently the only thing PC users will have to do is have Windows 8 and pop the Xbox 360 game into their DVD drive and that is it.

However, your PC will still need to be powerful enough to run the games. In addition, if you want to play these games online, PC players will have to buy access into an Xbox Live feature like Xbox 360 users have to.

Online Shopping Glitch Lets Customers Shop For Free

Online shoppers in New Zealand were stocking up on incredible electronic bargains after a glitch on the Dick Smith website let users purchase items at no cost.

Dick Smith were forced to temporarily take down their New Zealand homepage after online shoppers were able to purchase goods, prompted to pay nothing but the cost of postage and handling. Only the New Zealand website was affected, and shoppers using the Australian site were able to continue shopping as usual, albeit without the super-sale prices.

The Man Behind Galaxy S II Leaves Samsung

Omar Khan the CTO at Samsung Mobile and the Godfather of Galaxy series is quitting Samsung to head mobile initiatives on a global basis at CitiGroup.

Khan has been working hard for Samsung Mobile and we can all agree lately he has done a pretty stellar job. The Galaxy S line was the number one selling smartphone in America and extremely popular around the world, and the Galaxy S II is even better and has caught plenty of peoples attention, us included.

Samsung Epic 4G Getting Gingerbread Update Later This Month?

This isn’t officially confirmed, but the rumor on the street is that Sprint and Samsung are getting ready to finally bring the Android 2.3 Gingerbread to the Epic 4G.

Yep that means that the only device in the Galaxy S family with physical QWERTY keyboard will soon get a number of new features and performance enhancements.

Samsung Hercules To Be Released In Late September

If apple is now rumored to release the iPhone 5 in September, Samsung is also rumored to release super powerful smartphone which is called Samsung Hercules. It’s rumored to be the toughest competitor of the iPhone 5.

If the latest reports are accurate, we might be seeing the Samsung Hercules land over on T-Mobile this September. If the HTC Sensation or the recently troubled G2x dual-core phones aren’t what you desire maybe the Hercules will be, it has great specs to back it up.

HP Plans August Release For 64GB TouchPad

According to some leaked roadmap slides, Hewlett-Packard is planning to follow up on its just-released first TouchPad tablet with a “white glossy” model due out in August that sports a more powerful processor and 64GB of internal storage.

There will be a 4G edition with HSPA+ model of the TouchPad as well which is tipped to arrive on AT&T. Apart from the change in modem, everything else about this model will be the same as the current 32GB model.

Google To Acquire Punchd

It seems that Google is about to acquire Punchd to improve their Wallet product. The deal, said to be worth over $10 million, would provide Google with a mobile loyalty card system built on the Android and iOS platforms, which would be perfect for Google Wallet.

Google Wallet could definitely use Punchd to improve its current loyalty provisions. Their system relies heavily on NFC wireless, and Punchd’s system relies on QR codes.

LG Optimus 3D Launched In Korea

LG yesterday launched Optimus 3D in South Korea. The launch was accompanied by the announcement of 17 Stereoscopic 3D games for the smartphone from Gameloft.

Three of these games Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, N.O.V.A. — Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance and Let’s Golf 2 will come pre-loaded on Korean LG Optimus 3D, while the rest will be available for purchase directly from the smartphone.
