Facebook Buys iPad Book Publisher

Looks like the social networking giant Facebook is now making a leap in to e-book industry. Push Pop Press is a renowned iPad e-book publisher known for re-mastering and publishing content such as Al Gore’s “Our Choice”.

The publisher had been working on some other titles for touch devices lately. According to latest reports Facebook has procured Push Pop Press. We can’t tell what exactly Facebook is going to do with the acquisition but one thing is clear that Facebook is definitely not going to publish e-books.

BlackBerry Handsets Revealed, Right After Co. Downsizing

RIM is currently losing both in sales of its handsets and its success of its new operating system. Recently, RIM fired 2000 employees in an attempt to save the company.

But just a day after firing 2000 employees, RIM gave a statement about its two upcoming BlackBerry handsets on Twitter and Facebook which will most likely feature BlackBerry OS 7. RIM is yet to confirm these handsets but thanks to leaks, we are able to give you a quick overview of the new handsets. The first one in this line is Monza/Touch/Volt 9860 featuring a touchscreen.

Sony Creates The World’s Thinnest Camera-Sony DSC-TX55

When it comes to superb image capturing, Sony‘s Cyber-shot series is on top of it. Every year, Sony comes up with some very cool digital cameras for the photo lovers.

This time Sony has created what they claim to be the world’s slimmest camera, the Cyber-shot DSC-TX55. The camera is just 12.2 mm thick being 5 mm less thicker than the Sony’s DSC-TX10.

Panasonic Lumix GF3 Coming Soon!

Panasonic has just revealed the smallest of its Lumix G camera along with its new GF3 interchangeable lens. The camera has a 12.1MP Live MOS sensor and runs on a Venus Engine VII HD images processor. The GF3 earns the title for capturing DSLR-like image quality in its small and compact design.

The new GF3 is 17% smaller and 16% lighter than the Lumix GF2 which should be noticeable on those long photo shoot days. Users will be able to capture Full HD video recording with full time AF Tracking. The camera has a 3″ touchscreen display, showing a 460K dot LCD.

iPod Software Update For Better Gaming

The 4.1 software update is the first major update to software 4 for the iPod touch.The new software is bringing game center, new iTunes features, and more to iPod touch. There is a feature called FaceTime. FaceTime brings video calling to iPod touch. So now you can see your friends and talk to them with high resolution of 960 by 640. Everything you see and do on iPod touch looks even better than before.

Apple’s Cloud Music Platform, Coming Soon!

Apple sources have recently reported that it will soon release an online music storage cloud-based service. The launch is expected to arrive before Google’s version of cloud-based solutions. With Apple’s new online storage system, iTunes users will be able to store music on a remote server while given the rights to access their songs from different devices. Although Apple hasn’t yet signed any licenses with record labels regarding this service, many are eager to begin the talks.

Amazon Introduces Library Lending, For ALL Platforms

KLL is a new feature that will launch later this year, letting Kindle customers borrow books from over 11,000 libraries in the United States, digitally. The Kindle Library will be available for all generations of Kindle devices and free Kindle reading apps. If there is anything that could make you respect Amazon, it should be this.

Sony has released the Crackle app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch this past Monday. The new application allows consumers to stream full-length movies and television shows to their respective Apple devices, for free. That’s right, users can enjoy unlimited, on demand viewing for free. The app comes as an extension of the www.crackle.com website it streams movies and television episodes at the cost of the viewer watching a couple of commercials. If you’ve already connected the dots, this service is very similar to Hulu.

What looks like the next iPod Touch has been spotted, and while the home button has not been completely removed, it appears to be a touch sensor, finally staying true to its name. Some are wondering whether this next-gen iPod sheds any light on what the next iPhone might look like. Although we don’t have detailed specs in regards to battery life or software tweaks, the iPod is rumored to come in 64GB and 128GB models, which is a massive amount of storage.
