Japan Enjoys The Acer Touch

Japanese citizens all over the country will be pleased to know that the Acer Iconia F54W will be hitting stores all over Japan later this week, priced at around 150,000 Yen, which equates to about $1,800 American dollars. The Iconia F54W is powered by a blazing fast Intel Core i5-480 processor and features a whopping 4GB of RAM for the dual-screen laptop.

Users will have more than enough space with the provided 640GB of hard drive space, USB 3.0 hookups, Bluetooth 3.0 access, and two gorgeous 14″ screens that each run a resolution of 1366 x 768 (a much more impressive pixel ratio than what we saw earlier with the HP Pavilion G6 notebook).

Introducing Acer’s First Dual-Screen Laptop: Iconia

The Acer Iconia is the mutant child of a laptop and a tablet, and some are calling it a touchbook, but that’s a little to Orwellian newspeak for me. Essentially, it’s a laptop with two 14-inch touch screens. The only previous “touchbook” was the Toshiba Libretto W100, which had a limited release.

The Iconia weighs in at 6.2 pounds, is powered by the Intel Core i5-480M, has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and has a 640 GB hard drive. Connectivity options include 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port. The Iconia includes the brand new USB 3.0, allowing super-fast file transfers, in addition to a HDMI port, a VGA port, and 2 USB 2.0 ports. The GPU is not as good as it should be,
