Sony Brings Qriocity Video Service To Smartphones

Sony recently introduced an app for Android devices called “Music Unlimited” which allowed Android users to listen to their favorite tracks on Qriocity powered cloud based music service.

Following the same tracks, Sony is planning to bring the Qriocity video service to Sony Ericsson smartphones. However, this service would be initially available on only a number of selected handsets. Currently, Sony plans to launch it only on its Sony Ericsson Xperia smartphones.

Hulu Going For Sale?

According to anonymous reports and various sources, the television and movie streaming service, Hulu, has received an unexpected offer to acquire the company. According to the Wall Street Journal, Hulu is weighing offers on whether or not to sell the company.

However, working as an Assistant Editor at Hulu during its launch phase, I know that the company was funded entirely by both Fox and NBC in what was originally joint venture startup.

Xbox360 Adds YouTube, Bing, And Live TV To UI

Just a week after Microsoft boasted that 40% of all Xbox’s use was nongaming, Microsoft has recently announced at E3, that it has improved the Xbox UI by adding both detailed voice and gesture controls. The new Xbox user interface will have Bing, Netflix, YouTube, and all of your usual games all in one system, creating the ultimate powerhouse for entertainment.

The only thing missing is a usable chat client, similar to what STEAM uses for its gamers. With the new system, gamers can simply say a term to bring up all games, movies, and TV-shows related to that term. Gamers will be able to watch clips of the content, view gaming tutorials through YouTube, and discover any new releases pertaining to their favorite titles.
