Gigabyte’s New Motherboard Features 240GB Integrated SSD

Just a week ago, we blogged about the Gigabyte motherboard with the integrated 20GB SSD. Glenn Barber spoke about how he thought it was cool to have 20GB of space on the motherboard so that users could easily reformat without re-installing the operating system each time.

I have to admit that even I thought that was a cool new feature at the time, until the Computex 2011 show when I heard that Gigabyte will also be releasing motherboards with 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB of *integrated on-board SSD, providing a max read/write of 140MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively.

24″ LED Monitor, Powered 100% By USB

Asus has recently demonstrated a USB-powered monitor, the MS248B, which was meant to replace the current MS248H USB-powered monitor. For a recent monitor, it has a very interesting feature, it only carries a single USB port that is placed to transmit both power and data from the computer to the monitor.

Fortunately, the single USB port utilizes the latest USB 3.0 technology, which allows up to 80% more power to be transferred to the monitor (something I would assume is essential to power a 24″ screen).

Lifebook X2 Concept By Fujitsu

Fujitsu is introducing the Lifebook X2 Concept to us, an extremely portable and very slender laptop. Upon opening the Lifebook, the user will see an ultra widescreen display palm-based device. When the device is fully opened you have yourself a perfect contestant for a modern netbook.

Assuming this Lifebook were ever to make it on the market, I would guess the specs to be very limited. I say that because it seems Fujitsu focused on portability in this design rather than performance. I also cannot imagine someone buying such a small device to do intensive work. The bronze/copper finish makes the device look like it was built for older people who may be looking for a futuristic experience.
