Chrome OS Has Been Hacked, What Now?

After Google has stated time and time again how secure its Chrome operating system was, we’ve just got wind that the operating system has been hacked. Now, before you start freakin’ out, don’t worry, it wasn’t some 14 year old.

The hackers were actually two researchers from the Black Hat security conference with White Hat security and they got through the ScratchPad- a Chrome application that lets you compose text files and save them to Google Docs.

Android Dominates Mobile OS Market

The OS war between different mobile operating system vendors is not new. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, RIM are some of the major contenders.

However, a study that was conducted recently states that Google dominates this pool of contenders with its Android OS. A research firm named Canalys recently carried out this survey which indicated that almost half of the world’s smartphones run Android while there is a major gap between iOS and Android. About 48 percent of the OS market belongs to Android while mere 19 percent is owned by iOS.

Microsoft To Pay $70 M To Alcatel In Patent Ruling

The patent war is not new is US. Almost everyone is suing someone else for some goddamn reason. The patent war between Alcatel-Lucent and Microsoft is also not new. There had been a number of clashes between the two companies ever since 2002 when Alcatel sued Gateway and Dell and Microsoft jumped in to help the two companies.

According to a recent federal ruling, Microsoft is bound to pay $70 million to Alcatel-Lucent by the order of a San Diego federal judge for the patent infringement which was originally filed by engineers at AT&T in 2003. The patent dealt with data entry on computer screen without using a keyboard.

Kinect Embedded PCs And Portables

Thus far Microsoft has been successful with Kinect (motion sensing controller-camera) for Xbox. That is the reason; Microsoft is considering implanting it into even more hardware in the future.

During the running week’s Microsoft Research Faculty Summit, the company’s Chief Research and Strategy Officer Craig Mundie said, he can predict that in near future both PCs and mobile phones will have a build-in Kinect-based camera.

Apple Might Acquire Hulu Soon

With an impressive sale of iPads, iPhones and other iDevices, Apple has generated a huge stack of money around $72.6 billion. With such a huge amount of money, the only thing which comes in mind of people is, “What are they going to do with all this money???”

Apple Barely Keeps Up With The Demand For iPad2

Apple has just recently released iPad2 and Apple fans have rushed to the Apple Stores so unexpectedly that now Apple can barely keep up with the demand for iPad2.

Tim Cook, Chief Operating Officer at Apple said, “Sales of the iPad 2 have absolutely been a frenzy. As we stepped into July, we have been able to increase the supply further, and some SKUs in some countries are at a supply-demand balance. We believe that some people chose to buy an iPad over a Mac in the quarter, but we believe that even more people chose to bought an iPad over a Windows PC.”
