Lantronix xPrintServer – Printing From Your iOS Devices

Lantronix recently released a new version of its xPrintServer which turns any printer into a wireless printer for your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. The company released its first xPrintServer late last year, allowing you to turn any network-connected printer into an iOS printer by simply plugging an Ethernet cable into the little box. Now the company added the xPrintServer Home Edition to its lineup, adding a USB port for the types of printers you’re more like to find at home.

HTC Has Just Acquired Dashwire For ‘Cloud Safety’

Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has just purchased Dashwire, a Seattle-based company. If you haven’t heard of Dashwire before, they are famous for creating a platform that allows users to back up their important data on their phones to a cloud-based system.

Dashwire is going to become a subsidiary of HTC and the company popular for their smartphones, plans on integrating Dashwire’s technology into its own HTCSense.com cloud services.

US Shares Spectrum With Mexico And Canada’s Borders

Spectrum sharing helps maintain the wireless network and keep it in a good state by shifting the excess users to the shared spectrum. Couple this with the fact that the US government is quite eager to provide 4G facilities near border areas, and you’ve got yourself a partnership with neighboring countries.

To achieve this goal, The Federal Communications Commission made a deal with Mexico and Canada for sharing certain wireless band spectrums. The FCC has not disclosed many details regarding the deal. However, the deal with the Canadian industry involves the sharing of commercial spectrum in 700 megahertz and 800 MHz bands.

800Mbps WLAN Coming Soon

Recently Networking Companies and Service Providers have been working on the usage of LED lights to give a speed up to 100 Mbps.

Recently Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI in Berlin, Germany has been pushing this technology to achieve a WLAN speed of 800Mbps.

The idea behind achieving WLAN speed of 100 Mbps with LED lights is that the LED light is made to flicker at a speed so fast that it cannot be witnessed by a human eye.

LG Goes Wireless, Announces Global Remote Call Service

LG has just announced a global release of its new Remote Call services, that allow smartphone users to enjoy remote maintenance and software upgrades. The service was first launched in Korea, but soon, the rest of the world can enjoy it too.

The Remote Call services essentially let LG diagnose software issues in a mobile device without forcing a customer to visit the support center (thank god!). This lets LG technicians connect to the phone directly via the Internet and troubleshoot the phone.
